The tabloid law against repetition

I picked this up from a post by Jon without an H on another thread:

"The tabloid law against repetition is spreading! Once they've used "goalkeeper" they're officially only allowed to say "custodian", "stopper" or "glovesman" when speaking about that position."

This trend really irritates me! Every article about a pasty nowadays seems to refer to it as "a tasty snack", relegating it to the level of a bag of crisps. Sacrilege!!

Any other examples that people find particularly annoying?
