I still think he's got a lot wrong this season though

He has got some things wrong. Should have gone 4-4-2 much sooner. Should never have said Luca Ashby-Hammond was a good enough number 2, shouldn't have signed Benarous before removing him from the squad in January, only having to out him back in. Should never have put Finn in the Squad. Should have sent him out on loan.

I also think poor recruitment, decisions by the board, injuries and Mr Cleverley not knowing what to in such a situation are all too blame.

I can't think of a single game this season where Mr Cleverley has had every single one of his best players available.

If we don't go up this season, the board need to show how sorry they are by keeping Tolaj and Bim, signing Mitchell and signing either Ralls or Kane.

Even not taking Herbie off v Bolton earlier in the game. That was the missing.piece in the jigsaw. We would have won with him today.

We've conceded more,at home than anyone else. 9 more than Port Vale. And 9 home defeats very nearly 10. Thats why we are missing out and Tom Cleverley must take some of the blame.

I think that’s us done. Even if we win all four, which we won’t, we now need Stevenage to get fewer than 9 points where their final three games are against teams with likely nothing to play for. If they get any points against Bolton and Lincoln they will be sitting very pretty.

Unfortunately, despite the positive signs, a finish of 7th-10th would have to be considered under par (over par?).

Would have bitten your hand off for 7th-10th a few months ago, but the goals we’ve conceded in the last two home games have been really frustrating.

That’s a wild stat. 7th in the league but we’ve conceded more goals at home than any other team.
And that's why we aint going up. I know Cleverley has been flavour of the month recently but he has to take some responsibility for that. We are too open. Before Exeter scored they had numerous situations to exploit us on the break but werent good enough. Not advocating a Stevenage type approach and winning 1.0 every week but we can learn from them.

Argyle did so well to give themselves a chance of getting in the play-offs ,now the pressure is on they have bottled it somewhat ,but as has been pointed out its our poor home form that has cost us.

Hope Tom and his team have learnt from this season ,tactically he has got it wrong a few times, like yesterday for example.

Regarding Stevenage, they play their game in hand against Bolton this week. Then they play Lincoln on Saturday. So there is a chance they might only get 0 or 1pts.

If Argyle win on Saturday and they are only 2pts behind with 2 games to go they have a chance.

Quite frankly l think it's amazing we even had a sniff of the playoffs. We had a dreadful start to the season. Cleverley was finding his feet. Injuries were pilling up. Yet somehow, given the fact at New Years we were struggling to even catch our Devon rivals in the league table, we now find ourselves in 7th place.

I'm not saying we should be cockahoop as fans for the way this season has unfolded. However, there are postives to be had. If you think after the championship disasters and financial Implications that has led to we were going to rebuild a promotion successful team after one season then l think that's a little naive.

To build the foundations of a successfully run football club you got to have the right building blocks in place. Firstly the club support staff that help the manager. From coaches, to transfer dealing to the CEO. This was a mess. It was going to take time to fill the positions. We then needed to hope this time we hired the right people. Relationships are built over time, not in an instance, but initial signs looks good.

Now is Cleverley the right person to be in charge. For me there has been some questionable tactical decisions regarding players he chooses for a role and substitutions he has made. However, over the past 6 months l think given the circumstances he is working under he deserves next season to see what would happen if for example we get less injuries to our squad.

I find it very hard to pick the bones out of our recent home results because simply the options he has had in midfield are very limited. Boateng must be running on fumes. To put a forward in midfield shows our desperation. People talk about the recent number of goals we have conceded at home. Could the GK have been better? Were there individual defensive errors that it's hard to blame Cleverley for? Like the Ross handball where he knees it up onto his arm.

The postive is that Cleverley has found a way to make Argyle win whilst the squad still struggled with key injuries. I honestly thought if we got to the playoffs we would win it because of the momentum. However, are we really going to get the better of teams like Bolton & Stockport when we have one recognised midfielder who is fit?

I think we made a decent recovery. Cleverley has started to connect with the fanbase. Behind the scenes it's much more settled. The question is where are we financially as a football club? By the 23rd of April we will know more as to whether we can have a good go at promotion next season or cut our cloth accordingly. The fact is though we need investment to move forward and that is the key to where Argyle are really heading.

In the meantime, l think it's OK to highlight the recent improvements both on and off the field and try to be postive about them even if our goal isn't reached. I remember back to October and November. It's feels like we are in a much better place and that should be acknowledged,if not celebrated.
