I thought it was okay but I'm not yet convinced I like it.

Definitely don't like the silly team names.

I didn't see the point of the Power Play. Power play makes it sound like a period of great advantage when in reality it was just a slight advantage to the batting team for the first 25 balls. They had a blank canvas for this so why not have the Power Play being 20 balls when the batting team can score double runs or something and let the captain call when they want to have it?

I hope it doesn't become just worth watching the last 15 minutes.

Remember power plays in 50 overs games used to selectable by the batting side.. till everyone started taking similar over slots that they made them rules.

I just see the hundred as city team 20/20 with a few tweaks. Might get more interested in the game especially ladies cricket.

I used to love going to the one day cricket when I had one of the Middlesex venues on my doorstep but since moving to Plymouth with no first class cricket, I haven’t bothered. I can boast that I have never watched a T20 game, even on TV but I thought I would give this a go. It is a shame that we won’t get a sniff of it down here. They have created all these Mickey Mouse teams but totally forgot about the far South West.

pretty much how i feel.don't mind the team names but it is 20 deliveries fewer than a 20-20 match which is the same as this ie,slog the hell out of the ball, they are trying to re-invent the wheel.it's ok to watch but i agree with postcode, test match is the best cricket.

Agree with all of that LC. The majority of the Somerset CCC fanbase are miffed about being chucked in with the Welsh Dragons. Another perfect example of the South West being cut off unfortunately. There should be a franchise for the SW area.

Hmmm. Bish, bash, bosh. It's cricket dumbed down with too many gimmicks. It just seems an American style day out for families.
There's now some bloke singing!

You'll have to support the Surrey boys and girls then. At least they play in green. :ROFLMAO:

Pathetic circus imo. And who do Somerset supporters cheer for? I'm not the sort of cricket fan that has no time for anything other than Test matches and the County Championship ( although they are my favorites !). I enjoy a T20 game too, but I can't see the point of this at all.
The other reason I don't like it is that 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to see Somerset win the Royal London Cup Final at Lord's - a great day out in the sun. Well that competition has now been seriously undermined by The Hundred in that with all the top players being snapped up for the new tournament, the premier 1 day comp in England for decades now consists mainly of 2nd X1 players and youngsters.
Can't wait for the CC to resume at the end of August! A first CC for Somerset?????
