There’s a lot of maybe’s there . I was just highlighting a different approach- sell a key player , replace him immediately.
Sorry, thought you were rueing the fact that other clubs were doing business and getting their strikers in whilst we appear to be sitting on our hands.

You’d like to think that we are doing all we can to sign strikers with some sort of track record , above non league level . If we’d signed Mothersille we wouldn’t have been unhappy so it’s a bit of a concern that Stockport have managed to do it so readily.

Bolton are in for a striker costing £1 M from Celtic , Luton possibly in for Lowe .

Has baidoo's as well as maxi's departure ( not to mention rumours over al hajj) given us extra capacity for non uk signings ?

Just wondering whether it's possible we might get a left field overseas striker in before 2 august ( I cant see us kicking off without an established striker in the squad) ? Somebody like Yousef Salech, who not many had heard of, when he signed for cardiff ( not salech- but just using him as an example of a player who few people had heard of before he rocked up at Cardiff) ?

Maxi no impact- he’s on a full work permit .

On the assumption that Baidoo is an ESC player then it’s difficult. The rules say that if you loan an ESC player then they remain an ESC player for the loaning club - because when they come back they would still be an ESC player . If however there is no chance of him coming back during the season then possibly you could ask the FA to agree to a loan .

If either Al Hajj or Baidoo are transferred ( rather than loaned ) then it frees a space .

Maybe we are waiting for a club to secure their no 9 before they are able to release our no 9 that we are after?

Maybe we are waiting for an injured player to get over their injury before we pounce.

Maybe we are awaiting resultant visa holdups.

Maybe we are waiting on a Premier League club to decide on which players they will want to keep before they decide they can release one of theirs on loan to us?

There are many scenarios that are possibly holding us back at the moment, but it won't be for the want of trying.

No need to look at what others are doing, a bit of patience is needed before we bring in our players, the right players and at the right price.

Look how that panned out last time

Hearing we are in talks with two strikers. One young, highly rated but unproven. The other one much more established and would be quite the coup. Competition from other clubs but told we’re confident and want both.

As I said stay patient, let Tom Cleverley and the back room team go to work. Extremely busy behind the scenes.
I'm assuming the one that would be a coup hasn't come off, and we're having to settle for someone like Bim Pepple instead?
Long time lurker - just wanted to say have always appreciated your insights.

I’m not actually to fussed about is securing big name/statement signings. Granted I’m not as old as some on here but the best Argyle teams I’ve seen have always been greater than the sum of its parts. Have faith in what they are trying to build and then have a moan if it doesn’t work.
