Franco Baresi the ex AC Milan and Italy player has passed away this morning at the age of 66 years old.
I had to double-check when I read he hung his boots up back in '97 - I didn't think it was as long ago as that.
One of the all time greats, a colossus of the game. Stylish, always in the right place, just a totally magnificent footballer. RIP No 6, Franco.

Lionel Messi,s father has died at the age of 68.He was by the side of his son at the beginning of his career and always present later on until recently suffering with illness. Probably in Argentinian eyes second only to God. God brought them Jesus, Jorge Messi brought them Lionel Messi!!.

Came as quite a shock when I found out about it this evening. Every so often I'll have a couple of hours playing Irish music and it quite often involved Glen or his music. ( I must get it from my Irish ancestors). So imagine when I saw this earlier this evening..
