I see some staff haven't been paid for 4 months and the owner Ron Martin has failed to deliver a promise that the staff would be paid July 12th. He has now put the club up for sale for £1 and the ground for £4.5m.

Ian, before I donate, and reflecting on the fact we were going through the same thing all those years ago, is there any chance of having a Pasoti whip round for their hardship fund as a fans united gesture?

Staff were all paid their owed wages including the backdated amounts last Tuesday.

They also received their July's wages on time yesterday. Failure to do so would have meant a 10 point deduction for the coming season.

Southend back in court today - word has it that they haven't paid all of their bill, and will look for a 42 day adjournment ... although it is thought that'll be unlikely.

So points deduction is looking likely for the Shrimpers.

Chris Phillips, the Southend local journalist covering it, said on Twitter that - with his Shrimpers glasses off - he's not sure how Southend got that final reprieve today.

And it is a final reprieve: if they're not all paid up to date by the end of this current adjournment, then they will be wound up.

Until then, their embargo stays in place, and they'll have to struggle on with their squad of 16 players. Oh, and they'll be deducted 10 points which will put them at the bottom of the National League on -4 points.

Really hope the fans get good news asap. On the pitch they've had a very decent start to the season, so hopefully off field woes can be overcome.
