There was no need for the Notts County fans to get off at that station to change trains as they could do it at two further stations.
The Police explanation seems reasonable, perhaps it wasn’t communicated to the passengers on the train.

The Police explanation is only reasonable if it was communicated to the passengers.
One said that he 'managed' to swap trains at another station.
No indication that he knew this was allowed/encouraged or a Police 'plan'.
Anyway why would the police think that supporters of different clubs can't share a platform/station?

Ah but Daz, did you notice he said he was escorted to the platform. No mention of being put on the train.

Maybe I should elaborate DGO, I was 'expected' to board the train. Luckily I managed to escape.
I am a law abiding citizen who does not get involved with such matters....
