Sir Alex Ferguson on beating dementia

Obviously of no concern to younger fans, but I found his suggestions on a BBC interview very interesting. He reads a lot and does quizzes every day, same here for me. I’m also a lifelong banjo and tin whistle learner, plus Pilates to help out on balance. Would be interested to learn of any other suggestions on here.

I just read an article that says dementia rates have fallen quite a bit in recent years. That surprised me to be honest.
Here is a brief extract ;
" Despite warnings of an impending tsunami of suffering from advocacy groups, better medical care and increased understanding of how diet, exercise and lifestyle choices impact the likelihood of developing dementia are helping to drive down rates in developed countries. But there is also an increasing awareness of the impact of emotions and mental health. It’s long been known that feelings of loneliness and depression increase the risk of developing dementia, for example."
