It’s not going to fall through - no way would we get the detail we got if that was a real risk. This is clearly happening
It would be very argyle like if it did and it would be a bizarre reason like the investor got lost in the sky flying to the uk

As nice as it is to hear there's likely to be money available in January, it would even nicer to think there's better players out there that are willing and prepared to join Argyle.

We've not exactly been portayed in the best of lights recently in the National press. Sourcing the funds might well be the easier part, finding the right people to spend it on could prove to be trickier.

I think we underestimate the appeal of Wayne, particularly with foreign players. Coupled with the fact that we are playing in what many view as one of the best leagues in the world and hopefully will be able to pay decent wages soon this shouldn’t be such an issue as we have found recently.

If Baidoo signs it will be down to having Rooney as the manager.

I'm sure something legal can be written between two parties, after all, the EFL isn't going to say 'no' is it?
Having to post this point again as apparently I stuffed up my last reply.
Hallett said there are 5 parties: him, the club, Argyle Green, the buyer, and the EFL. It's a lawyer's picnic but minor legal disputes over contracts can have very serious consequences. So all that lawyering is a necessary evil in a hyper-litigious world.

3pm kicks off!! not evenings! and yes evening games generally have lower crowds.
What is special about this season that will finally tell us about the impact on 3pm kickoffs? There is still a 3pm black out. Lets at least have an experiment and lift the blackout for a season and see if attendances are actually impacted. If they are significantly, fair enough, we can bring it back but my hunch is that it will make very little difference.

What did our players do during the international break? As far I am aware nothing to improve their performances. Rooney appears to be “ one of the boys” like Schumacher was and it is very difficult then to draw a line .The players might “ adore him” because of his lack of discipline. IMO players today have too much power, are cosseted and should remember how privileged they are to earn a living from sport.
I'm sorry Oldy but I'm actually normally someone who agrees with a lot of your posts, but this one... It's pure fantasy! Rooney has been working hard with the players that were here over the international break and that is why he was so frustrated by the performance! One of the positives from Derby and Brum was how he was a great people person, that doesn't make him a soft touch... Watching how he played football, I don't believe for one minute that he is "one of the boys" I think he will be a very demanding and determined person who won't suffer people not working hard and giving their all for the club.
Performances have been poor, but he doesn't look like he has lost the dressing room like Foster had despite his public collective criticism of the players

When Foster lost the dressing room he was still only losing matches by the odd goal. We even went to an in-form Norwich in his penultimate game and would have got at least a point if Hardie hadn't left his shooting boots in Plymouth.

If Rooney hasn't yet lost the dressing room then I'd hate to see our results when he does.

Is that fact or your opinion regarding working during international breaks? If the rumours are true it appears Rooney and the players like to socialise in establishments that serve alcohol and frequent the barbican area. I am not suggesting that there is necessarily anything wrong with that if there is a disciplined approach , does not have a negative affect on team performances and the players remember who is boss.

As much of a fact as they weren't working hard.
Agreed, it's not a good "look" for them to be out socialising and enjoying themselves after their performances, but agree that they are entitled to let their hair down with their boss as long as it doesn't affect the respect or reduce their performance levels

Whilst having had a couple of shockers this past week I’ve got to say I’ve never seen anything ever as bad as the defeat at home to West Brom under Foster.

All irrelevant though, Rooney has not lost the dressing room in the slightest and I believe that everyone is trying their best despite injuries/quality.

Yep, West Brom was utterly miserable from start to finish. We did go and win at Boro the following Saturday, though, which proves that footballers can still deliver even if they've lost faith in their manager (which the senior players certainly had done by then).

We'll have to agree to disagree on whether our current players still have faith in Rooney. What I saw last week was a group that has decided this gaffer isn't for them, but other views are available.
