Semper

Did anyone notice that a different recording of Semper appeared to be used last night which sounded as if it was being played at the wrong speed ie slower to the point of plodding? I always recall it being a rousing, upbeat tune to welcome the team onto the pitch but yesterday evenings version never seemed to get out of 1st gear - very underwhelming.

Yep, it was certainly a different version to the usual one. Awful.

I think more concerning were the ear shredding bursts of static squealing around the ground in the second half like some sort of enraged banshee. Unless it's a new tactic?

The most authentic would be the band of the US Marine Corps - it is their march after all. (Even though Sousa was, once again, probably trying to write a ballad)

Cant the club just go back to playing the version they used to use? (And I don't mean the Rick O'Shay thing either).

A version of Semper used to be played when the players returned for the second half but that's recently stopped.

Surely a longer edit is is going to be required now that the walk from the tunnel is longer. It's not noticeable at the moment but once there is a return to both teams walking out together, it will need to be timed differently than when the tunnel was closer to where the teams line up.

A good job too, that jazzed up version is dire and annoying.
