Wonderful post, Steve. Can't say that I have any memories of John "Cardiff" myself, but I was the (very) little lad who accompanied Jon Salsbury onto the pitch at half-time with the bin to ask the opposition captain (or star player) to do the draw, and was definitely there when Jimmy came to town - still have the autograph to prove it! He definitely lived in the shadow of the great Johnny Williams (one of our own) but it's good to hear that he enjoyed living his dream of being a pro footballer and being among us.
RIP Pilgrim

Yes. They got it wrong. My mate showed me the programme and they've put in 'our' Johnny W. instead of John 'Cardiff' Williams. Unforgiveable!

If not unforgiveable, definitely careless. They had the correct one on the website.
