Hi all,

IJN & PL2 have approved me putting this on the main thread this week as we build up to a huge weekend for one of our local sports sides.

On Saturday night, the Gladiators host the second leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final clash with the Redcar Bears.

The first leg is in the North East on Friday and it promises to be a mouth watering clash between two of the leagues most exciting sides.

Speedway is a sport struggling in the UK right now but not here in Plymouth. We are bucking the trend and the sport is thriving. Attendances are up and it's one of the best ways to spend your Saturday evening.

We are ONE step away from silverware, we need the Coliseum rocking with very point possible to decide our cup run.

🎟 Tickets available online or on the gate
Standing: £20
Students: £10
Seating: £23
💳 Cash & card accepted
👦 Kids go FREE
🚪 Gates Open: 5pm
🏁 Tapes Up: 7pm

Now more than ever, the team needs your backing. Bring the noise, wear your colours and get behind the Gladiators as we chase our place in the final!

I promise you, it's an evenings entertainment you won't forget.

It could not be any better poised.

The Gladiators have been fantastic up at Redcar tonight and only trail by 4 points heading into tomorrow night's decider. The first leg score was 47-43 to the Bears.

Weather looks set to be good tomorrow and it will be a memorable evening!!

Great evening Joe, family loved it once again. Talk about cutting it to the wire! Top crowd and atmosphere. A few argyle faces in that singing section.

Top job with the comms. Onto the final…

Plenty of spills throughout the evening. Hope Mr Barker is ok.

Good entertainment, but just got home.

Next home match next Saturday versus Oxford Cheetahs.

I hope you all enjoyed that as much as I did on commentary. I've been fortunate to witness many incredible sporting fixtures in my life but being involved in that last night was right up there. No quarter asked, none given by either side.

It took 30 heats to separate the two teams and thankfully for Plymouth, Danny King and Scott Nicholls, the two major, marquee signings delivered when they needed it most in the final race to send the Gladiators through to the Final, winning 48-42 on the night and 91-89 on aggregate.

I know I'm repeating myself, but if you haven't been down to the Coliseum, give it a go. You won't regret it. The Gladiators are in league action over the next two Saturdays; v Oxford (20th) and then against Edinburgh on the 27th.
