You talk about investing. Coaches, with their input into the growing infrastructure of the club , are often a much better investment than most players.
Have watched any games since are defensive coach has arrived. Just asking !

Those games are so small a sample size as to be irrelevant, and their hiring is part of a long-term plan.
They provide a nice convenient excuse though, for anyone who is looking for one.

On the other hand, one could point to the fact that Argyle contributed two-thirds of the central defenders in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Week (Gillesphey and Scarr) as evidence that the defensive coaching is strong...
(I suspect that Gillesphey's assist for Edwards's goal has helped him here).

Seen the last 3 live, and most of the others online and, yes, the defence has been poor. All I am saying is that it takes time to implement new methods.

Who would you have used this money to sign?

We don't have a defensive coach. Mark Hughes is a former defender who is now a coach but doesn't have a specialist responsibility for the defence/defenders.
He was the defensive coach at Rovers, mind you I think he was filling in, wasn't he?
