That’s what I thought too..I'm sure the transfer window is only open for league players moving into non-league, not vice-versa.

I’m far more comfortable taking an opinion from a professional EFL league manager who a) knows more about the game of football than many on here and 2) trains the players of whom he has his opinions on and receives collective information through a magnitude of experienced Personnal within the community of football.
Missed the point completely!I’m far more comfortable taking an opinion from a professional EFL league manager who a) knows more about the game of football than many on here and 2) trains the players of whom he has his opinions on and receives collective information through a magnitude of experienced Personnal within the community of football.
Isn't that totally contradictory to your earlier posts about square pegs in round holes?Isn‘t one of the characteristics of a lower league manager to adapt with the squad they have?
You will get injuries and suspensions. At this level you don’t have the money to replace players. So you utilise your squad. He has other options, than forwards.
Totally agree - we are a lower league club and it’s quite normal for players in our squad to have multiple positions:- off the top of my head in the current squad theres;- Garrick plays RWB and striker (just like Byron Moore did), Conor Grant plays LWB and RM, G Cooper plays LWB and midfield, Edwards RWB and holding midfield, Randell holding midfield and RM, Broom midfield and deeper forward number 10, Galloway CB and LWB.Most of our players fit into more than one position. Lowe puts on a replacement who either takes over from Garrick (RWB) or replaces a midfielder who goes RWB, which allows Garrick to go up front. Simples.
You are trying to make this too difficult.
Not if you change the formation. Then round pegs, in round holes.Isn't that totally contradictory to your earlier posts about square pegs in round holes?
You spoke too soon...Thank goodness I’ve got to hopefully the end of this post
That’s a very good point. Looking at the form of Hardie and Jephcott - players probably don’t want to come to Argyle to get 15 mins from the bench and then be 4th choice and even less pitch time when Ennis returns.I think that one problem was that, as the deadline approached, potential signings would have been looking at our results and wondering if they were just going to be bench warmers when they saw the early season scoring rates of Hardie and Jephcott.
Obviously, this would have, particularly, applied to anyone only being offered a short term contract.
Hopefully, their recent form and fitness will continue.
Now stop that!RL cannot force players to sign on the dotted line he also does not have a magic wand to magic a player out of thin air- i get people are frustrated but what more can he do
None of us know the politics of a football transfer window because the way we go about our business is extremely private- maybe people see what another teams have done in the transfer window & thought i want a piece of that but other football clubs are probably run differently to us
RL has been honest regarding the transfer window what he has to work to - budget & fit yet some people still choose to bash him but it is the way it is
RL has probably spoken to numerous players but because we do everything privately people think he is not interested in player recruitment or would people rather know everything that is going on re player recruitment just to be kept in the loop
RL will know from the players he has spoken to the ones that will be fully committed & buy into Argyle & the ones that are only chasing the paycheck ( this is what he means by criteria & right fit)
He will not sign a player for the sake of it- he will only sign a player after they have ticked all the boxes & due diligence has shown they are not a k******d in character or would people rather we sign a exceptional player that has a bad character & could be a rotten apple in the dressing room
As i have said in previous postings- the players spent a lot of time together due to the amount of travelling they do- for the entire football season they are a family & RL will not jeopardise that by signing a player that he has not done is homework on
This all takes time & has i have said everything he does in regard to player recruitment is done privately & is not for public consumption- until it becomes an incoming then we will know about it
Lets just leave RL & his team alone to get on with it
Hate to disappoint you i am a lady - ladies tend to see things differently- i am as cheesed off as any reasonable personNow stop that!
This is a rumours thread strechting to over 100 pages without a credible rumour on it, and you go being reasonable. Sort yourself out man!
