I’d like to see a tough tackling hard man in midfield, someone who can put it about (fairly), a motivator and a big mouth, someone who will give our other players a mouthful if necessary.

A Jay Spearing type of character for those that remember him. Ex Liverpool now playing for Tranmere Rovers. He’s 34 now so probably not one we would look at but that type of player..

It's such a great position to be in, with a unified squad almost ready-to-go again, and with forward momentum and real belief in themselves as a group.

It means we can afford to be very picky regarding new signings

We're clearly looking to strengthen up front.

Shirley being released hints at that, otherwise we could have given him a one year deal.

So I'd expect 2 to come in there - 1 of these of course could be Garrick.

Another could be a high-calibre young loanee from the EPL. I think Argyle are now at a level and profile where EPL clubs will feel there's mutual benefit. That performance vs Chelsea will have turned some heads.

If (and it's a big if) no-one is poached and were simply looking to complement what's already here, then I'd also expect us to go for an all-action midfielder (ideally good at set pieces), and a promising up and coming RWB.

The key is being really fussy and setting the benchmark high.

The most important signing for PAFC would be an extension of Camara’s contract. Without him, we are a pale imitation of the team we can be. (Include Cooper in this too).

We have one guy in our squad who can dribble and beat a player in a one on one situation. That person is Mayor. For comparison in Adams squad he had Lameiras and Carey.

We have one energetic, box to box player in midfielder. When he is injured we have no one else.

We have an abundance of midfielders good on the ball. Houghton, Randell, Grant. But they are they same. Technically good on the ball. No real engine though like Camera.

We have two wing backs who can’t beat a player on the outside.

We have 3 forwards who like the ball to their feet. Not in the air.

We have 5 solid CB’s. Wilson, Scarr, Gillesphy, Bolton and the impressive Galloway.

If we are going to keep hitting it long. We need a target man/physical player to play off.

If we are going to keep playing with two forwards we need a couple of wing backs who can beat a player and cross it from out wide. It’s ridiculous to keep looking at Mayor to do this.

We desperately need more legs in midfield.

Defensively we are sound. Especially the way we play. We will always give good teams the opportunity to score. What we needed to do was cut out the really stupid, “cheap” goals. MK Dons third is an example. Ones we haven’t conceded as much.

If we are going to keep this 3-1-4-2 going we need much better attacking options. We are way too nice to play against in midfield. We need something different. More steel and bite. We have too many players that are the same.

Do we really think Wycombe are going to allow MK Dons to play their football like we did.

I'm talking about much higher calibre loanees than previously. Or more specifically, just one will do. We're in a different place now.
Yes, I would think MK were pleased enough with Troy Parrot this season. It is easier to pick up one of London's promising youngsters being based in Buckinghamshire than on the Devon/Cornwall border of course.

Any fee for Cooper (should he be sold) is capital. Some will need to be set aside for revenue consequences, e.g. higher wages if we’re securing ‘better’ players. Then you need to think about how much of that capital you can sink into infrastructure for a return on investment, i.e. higher attendances and hence revenue streams for the future. Never as simple as just spending the lot when you’re on the rise as a club/any business.

Definitely one of your clearest most concise and accurate (Wycombe) posts, nice one.
