It's worth remembering, and this was possibly his point, that we are in a good position ( on paper ). We will qualify, and most probably in 1st place. Once you look a bit deeper though, there looks to be so many issues...

BUT, we've been here before, Scotland and USA 0-0's, also in the second game, we kicked on after both of those disappointments. Hopefully history can repeat itself.
History, at least recent history, is repeating itself, that's the issue.

After the second game in the World Cup, I was able to say "we're lucky there are at least 11 Americans who don't like shooting", but I can't find anything amusing this time around.

Yes, this defiantly feels like the worst out of the 3 dismal games! Some collection !

I'm the most blissfully, naïvely optimistic England fan around, but even I was arguing with the TV when Kyle Walker said we should take the positives out of yesterday's game, such was the absence of any.
I was aghast when I heard Walker say we should take the positives out of that game, I'm afraid we looked clueless and lethargic, I'm surprised he didn't blame the pitch 😂 Southgate that is.

EURO 2024 POD : Mark, Chris, Tom, and Archie return to discuss ANOTHER poor England showing. Yet despite this, there is light at the end of the tunnel regarding the draw, which has opened up very kindly in England's favour. After discussing England's chances going forward, and the fallout thus far, attention turns towards Home Park and the recently announced fixture list, alongside new kit rumours and possible new incomings.

EURO 2024 POD :
Ex-Argyle striker Joe Mason and pal Seve Catindig-Stagg join pod regulars to discuss England's last-gasp turnaround against Slovakia. After yet another abject display from the Three Lions, we discuss where Southgate goes from here. Are England capable of overcoming the in-form Swiss?

Attention then turns to Argyle transfer business as new signings are discussed, alongside Miller's departure. Perhaps the biggest news is also the most disappointing: goalkeeper Mike Cooper has rejected a new deal and the club is open to offers. What is the best course of action regarding one of our biggest assets?

Tom, Archie, and Mark talk about the disappointment in Deutschland, with a meek defeat to Spain in the final. They discuss Southgate's legacy and resulting departure, as well as looking forward to the future. Klopp?! Surely not.

Attention then turns towards Home Park, as they look at Rooney's impressive start to life at Argyle, the Cooper situation, MW anniversary, and Olympic appearances.

Tom and Archie are joined by former Argyle striker Nathan Blissett for an in-depth chat about his career. From being discovered playing park-football at age 21, going into the profession after university, to dealing with the high demands of the Argyle team and manager, and then the transition back to a life outside the game, this is a truly unique story.

In this bonus pod, Archie is joined by two guests:

In part one, James from the "Wednesday 'Til I Die Podcast" gives us the lowdown on the Owls and details what's been yet another extremely eventful 12 months for Wednesday since we last spoke. James shares his thoughts on his team's chances this year and, crucially, offers some pub and pie tips for any fans making the pilgrimage up north.

In part two, Aron, a Hungarian sports journalist, joins the pod to discuss Argyle's latest signing, Kornel Szucs. Aron sheds light on Szucs' career thus far and provides an overview of his playing strengths. There's even time for a Kristian Timar update as well!

Everyone is relieved to discuss a much-improved home performance against Hull. Evidence of the emerging Wazball plan, some strong individual performances from the old guard, and a unique mood inside the ground all feature.

The conversation then turns to what could be a busy week of incomings and outgoings, thoughts on the new third kit, and a preview of next weekend’s trip to QPR.

Another point gained in difficult circumstances. Standout performances in goal, a world-class strike from a long-serving captain, a lot of heart, and some early loss of composure are judged, on balance, to be signs of progress.

After a brief update from Amos in Blackpool, thoughts then turn to a review of new signings and any more that may come—and go—as the window closes, along with the return of the Helicopter King. Plus, a quick look ahead to another trip to the capital against an in-form Watford.

And—due to popular demand (one request)—the quiz is back. Geddon.
