Finally got around to listening to this, well done guys. So impressed with Clevs, like many I wanted him gone around Nov time but his attitude is superb.
I loved his rection to the question, so pragmatic in saying that he understood the fans reaction and appreciated why people thought that way as we were losing games and playing poorly.
He was so level and humble in saying he was pleased that spell didn't damage his reputation with the fans. Such a refreshing way at looking at the situation, a heartwarming listen 💚

New Pod: Freindly Fires

Only days to go before the season kicks off with a barnstorming local derby under the lights as Archie is joined by Alex, Chris and Mark for a review of recent friendliest and the big game ahead.

The return of Tolaj and Randel brought the best out of a stable squad with focus on what look to be positive new additions. White impressing with a controlled performance, Hartridge impressing, two goalkeepers of varying stature and some solid all round structure. Shame about the injury. The visit to Tavistock brining a different kind of joy with fan and player engagement, some great youth performances and (touch wood) no hamstrings seem to have been damaged.

Next - a new feature for the season with a question from the quite brilliantly named pastyboy. Before anyone complains, we are laughing at the perfection of the handle and our own lack of preparation in case there is any doubt. Anthony - you will always be the first, thank you for your question. If you'd like to ask a question for upcoming episodes please email or contact us via the usual social channels, all of which can be found here.

After a debate about the use (or lack of) youth players, and potential incomings, focus turns to the season ahead and the big game under the lights live on Sky on Monday. With a solid squad, a manager with a plan, and enough summer to refresh the senses, we can't wait to get going. What could possibly go wrong....?

Appreciate it's not the newest ep but that interview with Tom Cleverley was really good. Fascinating to hear him break down exactly what he didn't like tacticaly about Tuchel's five at the back with England too. An angle I'd not heard in all the post-Argentina media talk.

I think Adams said something interesting regarding Cleverley needing to work on a back up formation for when 4-4-2 isn't that successful this season.

Having two in midfield, leaves you vulnerable to the better coaches who like to play three & dominate the ball.

Sturrock & Schumacher had a great plan A game. Yet they often had the ability to change formations during games and pick the right substitutions when Plan A didn't work.
Well, this amazes me. I couldn't imagine how anyone was going to squeeze a pesimissim into such an upbeat thread. And I think you may find that Derek Adams said "if" and not "when" 442 isnt that successful..

A question - if Argyle were a bag of crisps, what sort would they be?
