The ban is backdated to the date of the failed test but he'll still be out of football until 2027. Surely that'll be the end of his career unless Saudi clubs are that silly.

Sad, at the age of 26 he had the world at his feet with the World Cup win. However, his decisions since then have clearly not been wise ones.

Parallels with another huge talent at Man U, George Best who had peaked by 26, obviously for different reasons though.

Indeed. But sometimes you have to say they deserved each other!

Fergie was glad to see him go at 19 - wrong attitude and unwilling to show character. Mourinho brought him back a few years later for a crazy price. The long term suggests Fergie was right - as he generally was with the odd exception.. Better to have a less talented player who tries than a talented one who gave it his all about two to three times a season. Rashford drifting into similar territory after getting his new deal. As for Martial ... been there about 8 years , outlasted 5 managers and hasn't made a tackle yet !
