Pasoti mobile performance

Hi,

In recent months I have been experiencing some performance issues, with pages encountering errors and needing to be reloaded (when scrolling through threads), but also significant battery drain.

I usually read pasoti via safari on an iPhone 13. Appreciate my phone is about 3 years old now, but I wouldn’t expect a forum to need a lot of processing power.

Could well be my phone, but just thought I’d flag it!

Yes Adam. IPhone 14 for me.

Reloading does seem to coincide with the ads loading up - they just seem busier on the phone versus iPad. So not sure if it’s exception errors with new ads on older browser versions. No such issues on iPad.

Over the last couple of weeks I randomly get an audio advert for what I can only describe as 'itchy dogs'. This is when on the General board. There is no visible ad to go with the audio so nowhere to click an X.

I've noticed this happening with my Apple iPad but not with my Android mobile phone.

I get this quite a bit too.

Mobile is definitely noisier. There’s an issue where ads randomly appear in the text type window so that you’re always clicking on them with new windows.

For example, as I type this on an iPhone the keyboard is being minimised revealing a cross-site link to a ‘Mr Q’ gambling site - which of course my typing clicks. My Safari policy blocks cross site origin cookies but the new window is opened and I have to close and go back to Pasoti. This has happened three times in the time I’ve taken to type this message.

I understand the need for ads but this type of behaviour is very frustrating when it happens.

Definitely noticed it getting worse in the last week or so. It’s constantly refreshing the page making it hard to read threads (nearly up to Cornwall Live levels!)
