IF they manage to achieve promotion then some of the teams in the Southern Premier South are on another level. As youād expect thereās some well established clubs in the league above (plus those that could come down) that have been around for a long time (when compared to Parkwayās 34 years) so stadiums, fan base and legacy are more established.
Clubs like Taunton, Weston Super Mare, Tiverton, Salisbury, Hayes & Yeading, Met Police and Dorchester etc, plus others (some of these are promotion candidates though) have pretty impressive stadiums and get good crowds
so Iād say Parkway would be about or below average in terms of size. But thatās what you get for moving up the pyramid I suppose, especially so quickly. Itās similar I suppose to say Fulham or Bournemouth going up to the Premiership, theyāll do ok but probably wouldnāt compete with the sides at the topā¦just yet anyway
Ageee with you that it would be great for the city to have two teams. Parkway wouldnāt ever (I donāt think) become professional but thereās no reason why they couldnāt target a place on the National League scene in years to come.
In the grand scheme of things, Parkway are a relatively new club, and an extremely new club at this level. I suppose it takes time to establish the off pitch stuff like an increased fan base but if they continue to be successful on pitch then the hope I suppose is the off pitch stuff will grow also.
Either way itās exciting times and Iām enjoying riding the wave and hope to see them grow and grow and excited to see what happens in the years to come.
