Well done Amber Anning!
A bronze in the 400m mixed relay 🥉
I'm fairly certain she is the first Olympic medallist that I have known personally!
Good luck to her in the individual 400m during the next week 👍🏻

Yep, but as anyone who actually understands human biology to the point they can hold a decent conversation about hormones and chromosomes knows - barring genetic complications, all cis-gendered women produce testosterone.
There are chromosomal anomalies that lead to differing rates of testosterone production - but the test you reference does not take this science into account and is therefore a wholly unacceptable mode of delivering fairness in sport.
These are all facts - 100%.

The very point of competition is to be the best, the simple idea that one natural-born woman should not be permitted to compete against another simply because she naturally produces more testosterone is utterly absurd and invalidates the entire point of sport.

Black people are generally athletically superior to anyone else on the planet, but I'm sure any suggestion of disqualification for 'advantages' would be dismissed as ridiculous.
Like that, this is ridiculous.
This issue has nothing to do with testosterone and no one is calling them out because of their high levels. They are men with DSD’s which means their penis did not grow when they were in the womb due to a protein issue, hence them presenting as a female when born and then brought up as females. Everything else genetically about them is male though, they have undescended testes and have gone through male puberty.

The IOC know this as they admitted it yesterday. Men should not be fighting women in Olympic boxing.

Also, a shout out to some of the Olympic pundits, particularly Mark Foster and Denise Lewis, who speak clearly and pronounce their 't's', unlike Micah Richards, Rio Ferdinand, etc, etc.
And you've got to love Rebecca Adlington, what a nice person she is!!

Yes the pundits are very good on the BBC. It’s amazing some of these sports don’t get more coverage outside of the olympics.

They are women with DSDs, not every DSD concerns penises and testes developing incorrectly.

The IOC have at no point suggested these two are not women and, instead, have asked for people to respect these women.

Still, so long as a cis-gendered man who is also a convicted nonce is free to compete, of course we should all condemn a natural-born woman with complications who has actually done nothing wrong - privilege in a nutshell, no?

Why are you trying to deflect and talk about an equally disgraceful decision by the IOC?

They have failed sex tests by the IBA, they have not appealed the decision and gone to CAS, why do you think that is? They are genetically men plain and simple.

The IBA was run by Russians and has since been discredited and stripped of it's status as a governing body due to a huge array of governence issues, chief amongst them being their distinct lack of clarity with decisions made for many years - I wouldn't believe a single thing that comes from that cesspit of corruption.
Have they revealed the methodology of their 'tests' or even mentioned a single medical professional in attendance when they were performed?

I'm deflecting in much the same way you are when trying to insist this to be a man-in-women's sport issue when it 100% is not.

Jumping on this bandwagon doesn't earn a man some badge of feminist virtue, it just means he hasn't the intent to apply critical thought to lazy soundbites.

I’m sorry but you have not produced any evidence or critical thinking to this debate at all. I’ve provided facts which you hadn’t mentioned until I stepped in, no mention of what a DSD is and how it affects athletes.

You are the one virtue signalling saying that I’m in some way being unfair on these two men. You didn’t like the results of the tests that have been done by a court for arbitration for sport registered governing body, so you believe they are wrong and discredited.

Why don’t they just do a cheek swab test that is very easy to prove they are females?

What is it you see in this man that makes you think he is a woman?

There's been no evidence that Imane Khelif is XY, nor that she has in any way a biological condition that means she produces more testosterone. It wasn't even discussed before she won against an undefeated Russian boxer - nobody discussed her in the 2020 Olympics:, then suddenly she has a sex test by the IBA which she fails. The IBA haven't given any information as to what the test entailed, nor have they released the any details about what or how Khelif failed. I'm sure that the small point that Umar Kremlev, the head of the IBA, is a close acquaintance of Putin is completely coincidental.

The IBA and the IOC are hardly friends - the IOC suspended their recognition of the federation back in 2019 and then kicked them out in 2023 when the IBA announced they were going to recognise all Russian and Belarusian competitors (and there were a whole series of corruption allegations which the IBA didn't address). This whole situation sounds more of a political fight than a medical one.

They did appeal, then withdrew it as Khelif turned professional.

Like I said, no other boxing body had an issue with Khelif. The IBA didn't for years, and she competed in the 2020 games. That there was suddenly an allegation a few days after she beat a Russian boxer? Hmmm.

The IBA didn’t have an issue as he was being beaten by better more experienced boxers so it wasn’t noticeable. Now he is maturing further he is able to batter these women.

The IBA have just said that they have asked both fighters if they can release the medical information from the tests and both did not give consent. I’d say that’s pretty damning and why you haven’t seen the actual ‘evidence’ you mention. We do know they failed the tests though as that information can be released.

Again, a simple cheek swab test would clear this all up.

Foster, Ennis-Hill, Johnson and some of the nicher sports experts have been very good. But Lewis, not for me. I think she has perfected the art of speaking for 60 seconds and saying nothing while getting paid for it.
