We were flying BA out of LAX about ten years ago.

We’re sere taxiing to the runway and the pilot braked so hard the stewardess was flung about six feet into a corner of a seat cutting her head badly.

When I looked out of the window I could still see the wings bouncing up and down.

The British caption said that a tug driver had turned left instead of right and that he would be having harsh words with the operations manager at the airport.

Those airports are so damn busy (SFO as well) and there seems to be sooo much going on airside..

We sailed through security and had an easy time to and from Orlando. It sounds like an anomaly though - passport control in the UK told us they’d had passengers spend 5 hours getting through security. Apparently due to the US government shutdown strikes. Very low staffed and those working are doing so gratis.

Hi Barry
I have used MSC 3 times now and never had a problem. All helped that I guess that I friends and family discount of 40-60% and the Diamond membership level.
The food was a bit repetitive on the 12 night cruise thought

Everything is so spaced out in Orlando. I'd probably check out Miami personally. Florida is more of a fly/drive consideration. But when you've seen it all, you pretty much have seen it all.

Wet and Wild is always fun though, and thats on international drive.

Not for the last 10 years!! Last time I was there, Uniiversal was building a resort on the W&W site.

Oh really.

I've not been there in many a year! I remember 99c Whoppers, and the pound was nearly two for one dollar. It was fun whilst it lasted...For all of those years.😆

I landed in Orlando last month, one night hotel near the airport then off to Port Canaveral for a cruise. Nowhere near Disney.

We did a cruise out of miami, worst port ever. Loud, 1 way in and out so lots of traffic, whistles constantly and horn blaring. Was not remotely relaxing at all.
As for miami, was ok to walk around have a look but thats it. Way over priced everything and everywhere and sadly full of americans 🤣.
We we were looking at disney then a cruise for 2028 50th birthdays but have decided we just dont want to deal with america and americans right now.
So looks southern caribbean again with p&o 2 weeks over Christmas. Been many years since we last did it.

I’ve done Miami 4 times and have never experienced any of this. Stay in the Elser hotel the days in the lead up, walk down to Bayside and get some breakfast the day of the cruise, then get an Uber down to the port at 1pm, on the ship for 2 and relax. Easy. Best week of the year by a mile.
