Orlando With-out Disney

Prior to our cruise we had a couple of weeks in Orlando on International Drive as this time I did not want to drive in Orlando or visit Disney, as a bit of a tip we stayed at the Hilton Homewood Suites Nearest Universal.
This was ideal for our stay with the I-Trolley just a 5 minute walk but the most handy thing was just a 10 minute walk from the Universal hotels at Endless Summer, both of the hotels have Universal Guests courtesy bus to all of their resorts including the new Epic park which I have to say is a totally different level of theme park from the rest of Orlando.
As a 60 year old we took our chances on going on as many rollercoaster rides as we could including the new Stardust Racers.....if your up for it.......this is the best rollercoaster I have ever been on and we did every one in Universal and Seaworld this time but a close second was Mako on a Saturday night in the dark.

Oh sounds lovely.

My wife and i will be 50 in 2028 so we are researching spending a week in orlando then a cruise after. So starting to get some ieas on Hotels, transportation, food places and what theme parks to visit.

For me and my daughter so far we have
Galaxys edge on the list. 🤣
More then likely will be seaworld as well.
Cruise will be MSC as we have done royal from florida.

But that is as far as we got. So alwaya open to advice.

Loath Seaworld with a burning passion. :mad:i

A truly sick industry which only survives because brain dead people pay them money to see sentient animals ripped from their families and chucked into concrete pools for fat, popcorn eating Yanks to gawp at them in captivity.

It's a bigger version of the National Marine Aquarium where you worked isn't it?

Look up the difference between mammals and fish mate.

NMA has ethics, that vile place ONLY cares about $$$$$$.

I see that they are a research and rescue centre. No doubt they were awful in the 70/80/90's but I think they work more like the NMA now. They can't release the Orcas they have in to the wild now can they? (that's a genuine question).

For years, SeaWorld has tried to sell a story of education and conservation, but behind the marketing gloss is a different reality—one built on tearing whales from their ocean homes, breaking apart families, and forcing animals to perform tricks for food. And while the company wants you to believe that chapter is closed, SeaWorld and its orcas are still part of a legacy that thrives on captivity. This isn’t just history—it’s happening now.

I have been to Orlando more than 50 times and never been to Sea World. Plenty of entertainment from humans without having to exploit animals

A few points. If you can get a flight to Orlando, try BA or Virgin as they land at Terminal C, a wholly better experience than Terminals A and B. I would never cruise MSC again. My one experience was utter sh*te. I would describe it as a cruiseline, run by a bunch of Iralian circus performers trying their best to run a ship like a car ferry.

Anyone flying into Yankee land at the moment. On your head be it. Couldn't pay me to fly to the USA. Something horrendously wrong with their ATC system
