Owners worth just reported as 700 billion, making them the richest owners of any club in any world sport. They can now buy any player, anywhere, anytime at any price. Mouth watering to any Newcastle fan. Would I like it to happen to Argyle? No.
If you wouldn't like it to happen to Argyle why do you assume that it is mouthwatering to any Newcastle fan?Owners worth just reported as 700 billion, making them the richest owners of any club in any world sport. Exactly,
To see the Newcastle fans, celebrating yesterday, is sad.
They seem NOT to care where the money is coming from, as long as they get world class players and win trophies.
It is coming from a despot corrupt government, who don’t care about standards of democracy and decency. Who murder journalists and treat women as second class citizens, and wage war on the people of Yemen.
So winning ‘trophies’, is ok, at the cost on ‘anything’. To see older players support the deal, is also sad, but to get involved with this sort of Government, is being totally ignorant.
Also the ‘fit and fair’, process by the Premier league, is totally useless.
I'd seriously consider my support. Would probably start watching Torquay more.So NuFc has been taken over by a Saudi Arabian backed consortium. The club is backed by people who disrespect women, dismember journalists, and have public executions, and wonder if NUFC supporters would have new owners, at any expense, and don’t care where the money comes from, just to win trophies.
Just a thought, how would you feel is SH sold Argyle to country like Saudi Arabia.
Agree, but when have Uber’s, Facebook, Starbucks, Disney, killed journalists, disrespected women, and held public executions in the middle of London.Thing is - where do you draw the line? FWIW seeing the Saudis invest in Newcastle does leave a bad taste in the mouth, but if you're suggesting we should draw a moral line in the sand over that, does that mean we also have to not use Uber, Facebook, Starbucks, anything from Disney, etc or the multitude of other international products/organisations the Saudis have actively invested in through their Public Investment Fund? Do we not drive cars because they use Saudi oil? (We could go electric, but then the Saudis have a stake in the likes of Tesla...)
It is very hard for any of us to point fingers at Newcastle and talk about morality, when we are all guilty of using products which are owned or manufactured under states like Saudi Arabia or China.

Judging by the thousands partying outside the ground last night, and the huge number of positive reactions from fans I’ve heard on the radio this morning, yes, I think most do support this takeover. One interesting thought I heard on the Chiles programme this morning. Many of their fans who have never heard of, or thought about, this horrible regime will now learn about them for the first time, and some may quickly change their mind. Too late then. They will have achieved their aim of gaining acceptance, and therefore approval, of their disgusting regime, and all for a few million quid. What a bargain! If you wouldn't like it to happen to Argyle why do you assume that it is mouthwatering to any Newcastle fan?
Do you think they all support this takeover?
As for the Football 'Authorities' (snigger):
Satisfied that it is not run by a blood-soaked evil misogynist regime, happy that it is run by a Fund set up to distance it from the regime and set up and run by a Crown Prince of the blood-soaked evil misogynist regime? That's a textbook example of due diligence and proper process right there. I'm proud of them!
This is the situation, all those NUFC fans, are thinking about the MONEY coming in, and the superstars, they are going to buy.Judging by the thousands partying outside the ground last night, and the huge number of positive reactions from fans I’ve heard on the radio this morning, yes, I think most do support this takeover.
