With Tom Cleverley saying he’s happy with the squad in today’s press conference , it possibly doesn’t look like anyone else is coming in.

If he’s been told there’s no more money, then that’s a poor show from the board after the Tolej money.

I doubt its the money situation its more likely this wage cap that the EFL have brought in which now includes the manager salary

Might be the Board , might be the EFL regs , but also just seeing what happens on the pitch re form and injuries and off the pitch re transfers out .

Delaying for 2 weeks , allows the Coventry game to be played and for that income to be included in any new EFL submissions. The reality is that for most L1 and L2 clubs the position is likely to be fluid right up until the window shuts.

Easy way of finding out about a player is do some research. Not really that difficult

This. I also suspect we need to see where we are at regarding the injury situation in a couple of weeks. By all accounts Watts and Mackenzie are very close to returning. It’s imperative we get at least one player in though to play on the left. We are really short on that side. Sorinola can do a job on both sides but is not a long term solution. It would be great if Issaka could make that position his own but I’m not so sure.

The last thing you want to happen if, as a club, you are going through the IFR's ODSE process to approve new owners / investors is to breach the new SCMP rules just brought in at the start of this season

I'd say it's less that we're short of numbers, more that we don't have much quality there.
Even with Baidoo injured we have Watts, Amaechi, Sorinola and Isakka who can play on the left. The issue is that none of them have convinced since they've been at the club.

I'm sure the club would happily move on Watts/Amaechi/Baidoo if there were any takers but so far there's nothing, doesn't mean they won't keep trying until the window shuts. Get one of those allegedly big wages off the books and suddenly we can sign a player or two.

Hopefully we may get a loanee or two before the window shuts but who knows if we've got room in the budget for that.

I still think we will bring another wide midfielder/winger in before the window closes , but it will depend on moving a couple out (possibly Finn/issaka loans) ..I think most fans feel we’re short of quality in the wide areas , but we’re not on numbers ..there’s plenty of time left

I’d rather we waited for the next 10 days now to see how the first two league games pan out. We have Watts and Finn back to go alongside Issaka, Curtis, Sorinola, Amaechi, Oseni, Pepple and Evans. And then Baidoo will be back in November. That’s nine fit players for four positions. I want to see our younger players have an opportunity. Tegan clearly has potential and Freddie appears to have made good strides with his physicality over the summer.

I’d imagine the Baidoo injury, and to a lesser extent, the Watts injury as well, has forced the club to include their wages in the Squad protocol wage list ( or whatever it’s called).

Neither fit naturally into our 4-4-2 and are luxury 10s we can’t really afford and don’t really need now, though both are talented players.

I’d of thought the club would have let both go had there been interest and if they’d of stayed fit.

The club would very likely want to strengthen certain areas but their hands could well be tied.

We could likely sign 3/4 solid league 1 players with the wages those 2 ( and Amaechi) eat up.

It’s the price we’re paying for recruiting players on big (for us) wages to play 4-2-3-1

I am perhaps one of the more optimistic on here , but even I can see that it's all very well saying...'Oh well, Watts and Finn will be back soon, and Oseni's not out for very long", but that improvement of our wide attacking and striking abilities only counts if there are no further injuries to anyone else. Here's hoping there aren't anymore, because we have had 10 injuries of varying degrees of seriousness in pre-season (to my knowledge).
