Negotiations Underway (STATEMENT from Brendan Guilfoyle)

http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0 ... 41,00.html

STATEMENT from Brendan Guilfoyle, joint administrator of Plymouth Argyle Football Company Limited (in administration):

"Brendan Guilfoyle, partner at the P&A Partnership, confirmed today (July 12) that negotiations are underway with the Football League to get their consent for a transfer of Plymouth Argyle Football Company Limited's 'golden share' to Peter Ridsdale's new company, Plymouth Argyle (125) Limited, before the start of the new season.

"Season tickets are now on sale at the club following last week's deal signed with Bishop International Limited and Plymouth Argyle (125) Limited, and confirmation of funding in place.

"Guilfoyle said: 'This deal is critical to the survival of the club as it prepares for the new season.

" 'While we can understand why fans are still looking at other options, it is important that everyone appreciates that the sale of the club to Plymouth Argyle (125) Limited and the sale of the stadium and surrounding land to Bishop International Limited must go through to secure the football club's future.

" 'There will be no other 'rescue plan' in the tight timescale we have.

" 'I want to thank fans and staff for their continued support through this difficult period and would ask them to back both Plymouth Argyle (125) Limited and Bishop International Limited.

" 'The club will need their support as they prepare for the new season, including seeking sponsors and finding new players."

Hear hear.... We have back them for the sake of the future of the club! Take their money, secure the short term future and push on with the trust.....
Surely it's not difficult to see the logic in that??

So the deal "must go through" - if that's really the case then let's hope that the Football League don't see fit to scupper it.

Hope he isn't going to issue a statement everytime there is a negotiation.

Quick, quick said the Mad Hatter we don't want anymore awkward revelations re Bishop International becoming public. :)

They really do want this particular deal don't they. And none other.

To the point of being perfectly prepared - as they have admitted - to lie in public to protect the PB's identity.

Unusual that, for a professional accountant who chairs his professional body's ethics committee!

Anyway - surely any responsible administrator would have a Plan B up his sleeve?

Is Guilfoyle saying that if anything goes wrong - eg, Heaney doesn't come up with the money, or the FL refuse to grant the share, or Ridsdale is found guilty at Cardiff Crown Court - then he'll close down the club?

We have two chances to get to Plan B. One is the FL not handing over the share, the other is the PB not putting up the cash.

So time to press on the first chance...

the rescue plan has russled a few feathers.

hAHA u can only laugh. You have to admit that this statement was so obvious from him, we knew it was coming. The way he talks to us its like we are fickle.

It's all well and good Mr. Guilfoyle making these claims, but, without explaining why it is this bid or no other then it is all just an awful lot of hot air.

It appears to be a very thinly veiled threat to both the fans and the Football League, accept our bid backed by a man who already owns one football club and his very very anonymous mates or I will pull the plug on this football club.

That's exactly how I read it.

It really would be unbelievable for the FL to let this through - especially in light of the findings of PL2's brilliant sleuthing.

The only realistic Plan B is Brent. Playing devil's advocate for a moment, maybe Guilfoyle knows a bit more about Brent's current readiness and/or willingness to ride to the rescue than we do...
