Why to some poster do people have an agenda or a narrative just for different opinions? Seems to be the new buzz word at the moment

As this subject has been a constant negative over the past two seasons, and it's apparent that both Hazard and now Luca Ashby-Hammond are being told (?) to stay on their line. I wondered what the FA manual now says about dealing with crosses.

it's interesting here, there is nothing about the goalkeeper coming for crosses, the final para is the only time the gk is mentioned, and it says their primary role to communicate and organise the defesive positions to deal with the cross.

The evidence is both our keepers are mainly staying on their line. It would be a strange coincidence. We have a goalkeeper coach so it’s seems more improbable this is a keeper issue, otherwise they would be drilling the keepers in training to come for them. It seems the FA manual doesn’t put any emphasis on it either.

How am i insulting him? he's been poor for 3 games that's without the silly goal in Austria! Any other player would be dropped. I actually think he should have played last night to try and gain more confidence but he was once poor again.

I didn't say you were insulting him - others have been insulting. Your post, taken literally, said you're want to criticise until he proves you wrong - it's not something I agree with and I'm entitled to say so.

Wiredu was different, but is part of the same culture of slagging players off without giving them a chance to settle, something too many of our fans are doing at present, and it doesn't help the players. A significant number of fans seem to be looking at finding fault everywhere and letting rip. Are they entitled to do that? Within reason they are, but it's not assisting the process of building a team amid the numerous difficulties that have appeared in recent weeks.

What worries me most about ashby Hammond is that he's meant to be the last line of defence but he's not a very good shot stopper. We need Hazard back ASAP.

Constructive criticism of players absolutely fine, but what does battering them with insults prove? A worrying trend, particularly after the Wiredu stuff last week.

Then there's the blame game. Why do some posters always have to find someone to blame for anything that happens?

we have the right to criticise his performance because they've have been consistently poor and we pay good money to watch, i agree that some people take it too far and shout abuse or say horrible things online which i am against!

I'll absolutely keep supporting him at games and I don't think he warrants his own thread, but I am definitely struggling with Luca Ashby-Hammond.

I like GK's, McCormick used to be my favourite player, I really liked Alex Palmer, I liked Kelle Roos, I loved Cooper, I liked Burton, I like Hazard. I often think GK's get a lot of unnecessary stick and I'm generally inclined to defend them, but I think the Luca Ashby-Hammond stick is mostly justified, he is giving me Matt Macey vibes in that he makes an already unsure defence even more unsure. He isn't at all commanding, Hazard isn't the most commanding GK but he comes for far more than Luca Ashby-Hammond does and with far more conviction. His shot stopping is a bit up and down. His decision making is odd (Benarous incident last night). I'll give him his distribution, his distribution is fine.

It's possible that what we're seeing is a nervous player who will come good when he becomes more comfortable, but I think it's more likely (given his CV to date) that he just isn't at the required standard.

I'd love for him to prove me wrong.

That's it, i hate players being booed or when fans get on their back at games. However, what do you do as a fan with someone who is clearly not of the required standard? I don't think any reasonable person likes this thread but do we just turn a blind eye when someone isn't performing at the required level?

I feel for him, he's obviously been trailed and signed off the back of that, so not his fault. The failing is our end to asses someone to be of a required standard when it appears they are not.

Did we think we could improve the areas of his game that are lacking? It's just a bit weird and does feel a bit budget.

I don't know if it's just me or not but PASOTI at the moment doesn't seem a pleasant place to be around and this is the first time I think I've ever seen this site be so divisive, especially in a time that compared to most of our recent history is very stable and definitely good looking forward.

I agree Luca Ashby-Hammond is not up to standard but to slate him like I've seen some people do is just disgusting and uncalled for. Also to see what happened to Brendan is shocking. What has happened to some sections of our fanbase?

Take a long hard look at yourselves and be better.
