Wasn't in the stadium, so can't speak to his comms, but I was impressed from what I saw on the livestream. Man has had a tough gig, and did well, I felt. Also need to remember he's been recruited explicitly as a #2.

Seems to be growing in confidence, which is only a good thing.

Harsh on Jake Cole.
He was a great keeper for us in our dark days. Part of the team that kept us a float in EFL.
Ok, he was keeper for us in our darkest hour and for that he'll be remembered fondly and always welcomed back etc, but he was not a league standard keeper his career post argyle was played entirely in the national league or National league south, pulled off the odd great reflex save but anything put into the box had the entire ground closing their eyes.

I still remember that save at Dagenham.

THE best save I’ve ever seen by an Argyle keeper.

He did tend to lose where he was though I must admit.

Lots of players we had in those times aren't thought of that fondly, so that won't be the reason. He was regularly talked about by Argyle fans at the time as being one of the best keepers in the league. You've mentioned his career after us, but he was 29/30 when he left us, and was playing with clubs at the top of the National League for the next four seasons, which isn't a massive drop from where we were, especially back then then when promoted clubs in those years often competed at the top end of League Two the season after.

Jake Cole pulled off some of the best reflex saves I’ve seen from an Argyle GK. The one at Dagenham was special. There was also an incredible one at home to Shrewsbury and some fantastic ones at Aldershot (including a penalty). He was useless when it comes to crosses/set pieces, as Ian says, he’d constantly lose where he was and end up flapping, but he did make some top saves.

Wasn’t there for that one. Have seen some super saves by various Argyle keepers, but this is still my favourite for various reasons…

The guy stopped us going to the non league, a very underated keeper

Jake Cole was a half decent keeper, but an even better Shakespeare impersonator. I understand he later specialised as a Ming the Merciless double

Larrieu pulled off a similar one to Southampton years earlier in the same corner that I think was a better save.

He mentioned it as his favourite save at ht last week.

Thought Luca had another good game today.
He gets criticised for his shot stopping but the save in the first half was superb. A couple of other very good saves as well.
He flapped at a couple of crosses but at least he is coming for them (unlike fans' favourite Hazard, who stays rooted to the goal line).
As for penalties, maybe we should stop conceding so many rather than complain that the keeper isn't saving them.

Is that the game of Brunty's last second equaliser - magnificent strike!!

No the Brunty winner was the game after, which I also saw.

The one I'm talking about was a 0-0 draw, which should have been 6-0 to them.

I was in the boardroom at the time, and we got grief for the scoreline. :):):) All light hearted of course. I can remember their Chairman suggesting we should buy lottery tickets at a nearby garage.

Luca has improved immensely and he deserves a lot of credit.

He needs to change up his penalty saving routine though. That’s 8 in a row that he’s gone the wrong way for, GK’s on average go the right away 50% of the time. It looks like he dives too early and that gives the taker an easy side to aim for.
