So do we think this one wil actually happen or was it just a social media rumour/story that gained momentum?
I think the latter. A mix up between a player signing and someone that looked like Danns in town. A few “ITK” accounts trying to ride the rumour for attention. Snowballed.

I agree. Does anyone know who reported/tweeted it first?

I personally didn't see a single half-reputable source tweet about it. Mainly blue ticks that cover Liverpool, but are basically fan accounts.

Eventually a MailSport journalist (open to opinions on how reputable they are! but they are journalists at least) tweeted that he hadn't heard anything about that.

Seems very dodgy overall. Wouldn't be surprised if it was complete fabrication.

The Liverpool Academy reporter with 30k followers reported it. The OP shared a link from Football League World.
Who knows though.

Danns didn’t travel to USA for the tour due to minor injury ..maybe down to that ..the striker shortage on the tour is down to Gakpo!Nunez ,Diaz going long in their respective tournaments so still not back . The main LFC pages were saying Danns to us was a done deal

I hope this does not drag on, like last year's saga with Hull City Middlesboro.
From looking at Liverpool web sites, it seems that Jayden Danns was unable to be involved “due to a minor injury” before the friendly against Preston NE on the 19th July.

Danns did not go on the USA tour because of this injury.

He may come out on loan to Argyle

OR
the Liverpool squad return to Merseyside from the US and face Sevilla (Aug 11th) in their last friendly ahead of their league opener.
Another rumour is that Arne Slot wants to have a look at Jayden Danns in this match against Sevilla, before making any decision.

The original reports that I read suggested that Argyle were "first in line" should Liverpool decide to loan Danns out - the opportunity to be mentored and coached by WR being a major factor.

However, he is close to the first team squad and Liverpool are unlikely to make a decision on him until their squad is finalised. His age means that they don't have to formally include him in it but they will have a clearer picture by then.

The question might be whether we want to keep a loan slot open in case, and risk missing other targets in the event that Liverpool decide to keep him - as happened with Coburn last season.

Of course, the clubs may have already discussed things and a decision made one way or another. That is the beauty / frustration of Argyle's current approach. Even those in the know aren't always.

I hope our defence can be as leak proof as the management.

Shades of the interminable Timo Haas saga of yesteryear in this.🤔

Wasn't he called Mario Haas? Ex Austria international and Sturm Graz legend.

I think I recall the stumbling block was we thought he was free and Sturm Graz wanted some money for him...
