Up to them how they enjoy their afternoon. Although I can't see the appeal in spending a load of money to travel a couple of hundred miles and spend an afternoon singing 'footballs coming Rome' over and over again at at a meaningless fixture. But, if that's the kind of thing you admire who am I to argue?
I didn't say I admired them, my comment was how quiet our fans are.

Personally I don't agree with any Welsh teams playing in the English leagues, I don't see why they can, but the Scot's can't. They might add something if they played in the Scottish leagues.

They've probably been tanked up pre match in the local hostelries. It's a day out for them.

You do realise this was a friendly don't you?
Yes, so will Torquay be rocking when we visit?

Home Park is rarely noisy, thats the point.

What did you want at a pre season friendly? La Bombonera?!
I went to the Swansea and Boro games so I offer my own apologies that I wasn't fired up enough to bellow out a few 'green and white barmy armies'

With the away fans so verbal I was surprised we hardly raised a murmur, but Hey Ho, everyone seems happy enough so no bother.

Yet the away supporters do?
Topped full of beer. Saw a few of them coming in to the stadium 15 mins before kick off and they were having trouble walking in a straight line. thought the kids in the upper mayflower made a lot of noise. BTW, Argo, did you start up some singing from where you were?
I have to admit to getting a little vocal when Coops saved the penalty and we broke down the other end to nearly score through Hardie.

I went to the first two and remarked at the time that it was a bit flat. I think I expected more because it was the first time back with no restrictions but then the inevitable 'friendly' feeling hit me, I remembered that it didn't matter anyway, and I look forward to the first proper game with the Green Army in full voice - still a bit on the quiet side but that's just how we are, innit.

Joined in, the 10 seconds it lasted.

I seriously doubt if Bristol will be resonating with the talk about the Argyle pre season atmosphere lack of or otherwise, in any great depth for too long. Best not to dwell on it.

Whilst I get to the majority of matches home and away in the real season, I have to admit that I tend to give most of pre-season a miss. My kick out of football is the adrenaline rush of supporting my team in games where the results matter, and PSFs don't matter to the same extent. It just leaves me a bit cold, and I suspect that's why the atmosphere can be a bit flat.

I understand that for many it's a chance to socialise and see any new players, and that this year it has also been about getting back into HP. Each to their own, I'm happy to wait for the real thing. Having said that, £2.50 to watch at home last night was a worthwhile compromise.

Since when have friendlies had atmospheres 🙄. Even the big games against Gascoignes Spurs or Guillits Chelsea were not exactly bouncing back in the day.
Not sure what the OP was expecting 🤔
