I personally like Garrick. He gives us another dimension with his speed. I think it’s gone under the radar how much we’ve improved the physical profile of the squad over the summer. We have real physicality defensively and few more explosive players in Broom and Garrick. I think it helps in games like tonight where Crewe tried to sit in. It helped us create gaps. We just lacked a finish and Crewe seemed to block absolutely everything in the first half.

I think he was a something rather than nothing signing at a time when we needed an extra body in the squad. 32 years old and without having scored for over 2 years, I don't think he was ever going to get much game time. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Ryan Taylor was a close second.
He did well for Grimsby today. It was a pity his fitness record with Argyle was poor. His aerial hold-up skill towards the end of a match, would have been helpful in any number of games we have seen lost since he left, where we were dragged into long ball tactics.
