Good evening

I am writing to you from the Kernow Football Alliance, who are building an inclusive international football team to share and celebrate Cornish culture around the world. Our matches are played under the auspices of CONIFA; an umbrella association for states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions unaffiliated with FIFA.

Accepted as members in 2018, Kernow FA are currently preparing for their inaugural appearance at a CONIFA No-Limits European Championships, with the 2023 edition being held in Debrecen, Hungary.

We have also been offered a fantastic opportunity for September 2022 to travel to Spain and Tenerife to play a variety of teams from La Liga Genuine Teams (Professional Disability League) in both competition and friendlies fixtures,
Examples of opposition: Athletico Madrid, Gatefe, Bilbao, Real Sociadad. Tenerife, UD Las Palmas.

To that end, Kernow FA would like to invite you and your business to join in our journey to Spain/Tenerife and to the 2023 CONIFA No-Limits European Championships itself. For the sum of £250 per square (blocks of more than 1 are also available) your personalised message of support, as well as details of your business, will be inscribed inside one of 100 squares to make up a St Piran’s Flag that will be flown at all of Kernow FA’s games at the competitions. The flag will be seen by thousands across the venues and millions watching online around the world, as well as during press conferences, sponsor days etc.

We are calling it the 25k St Piran’s Flag with the funds raised from each square going towards funding the team and support staff’s trips to these competitions. Each square will act as a raffle ticket which, following the tournaments, will give one lucky winner the opportunity to take the flag home to keep forever.

We also have sponsorship options available for range of budgets including player sponsorship through to front of shirt sponsorship which would cover all 3 teams (mens, womens, inclusive for 1 sum)

For more information or for other ways to show your support for Kernow, please contact Director of inclusive Football Simon York on 07495022301 or Chairman Jason Heaton on 07399 596556. Alternatively, you can contact Kernow FA by email via info@kernowfa.org

Many Thanks

Simon York 🖤💛

Because it is recognised as one of the Celtic nations with its own language
Even though it isn't a nation! .
Mind you neither is Scotland according to the song Flower if Scotland.. sing "be a nation again" so I guess Scotland isn't a nation now

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a nation is "...a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory."

II'd say Cornwall definitely is within it's right to call itself a nation.

Cornwall is not a country or territory.. guess they are inhabitants of England where most if the Emmets Grockles etc come from, thus not sharing the same culture or language.

I always think it's weird when people get cross about a group of other people having a strong sense of identity other than just English or British. It seems so obvious that Cornwall is somewhere distinctive and different to the rest of England to me. There isn't a Team Devon in CONIFA but Yorkshire are represented.

And does it really do any harm if a disability team goes somewhere to play football while representing somewhere they're proud of?
