John Squire RIP

Sadly i must inform everyone that my Grandfather John Squire passed away this morning aged 80, he died at home with his family following a short illness. A lifelong Argyle fan he saw his first game in 1954 and remained an avid supporter until his final game in April this year. He would check Pasoti after every match and has been a keen user of the site since the beginning.

Thanks to the Pasoti Community for giving him so much enjoyment over the years even with all the ups and downs!

So so sad. Has been in contact with John recently and managed to give him a few happy moments when this little present was posted to him (a gift from KitsOnHangers)

Hope you keep it Ollie as he said it was down to him you became a green.

A sad day, RIP Pilgrim.

John made a sizable donation to the Pasoti season ticket fund for the 2025/2026 season knowing full well he would not see the start of the season. An incredible gesture from a Pasoti stalwart. 💚

I am so sad to hear this news. I knew John and his younger brother Paul from the 60’s when they lived in Fountains Crescent, Pennycross. Both big Argyle supporters as was their father who was a Plymouth police officer as of course was John. Their house in Fountains Crescent was probably less than 100 yards from where Trevor Francis lived with his parents in Melrose Avenue. RIP John.
