My most disliked manager in the 23 years I've been going to Argyle.

Say what you want about Rooney but at least he was likeable and didn't think he was too good to be here whereas Foster looked down on us and talked us down from almost instantly.
My most disliked in 35 years. Things weren't great under Mick Jones or Carl Fletcher but at least they were decent people.

Of the three home games they’ve played this season their attendances are as follows (this is not a joke)

82 people
90 people
58 people.

More people come to watch my daughters under 12 matches (and rightly so). I mean you need to ask yourself what is the point when its watched by 58 people.

edit: link here. they did get to play one game in front of over 250 people, which mustve felt like the Azteca https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeddah-fc/spielplan/verein/58858/saison_id/2026

Can’t say that I wish him any luck in his new role. Hoodwinked the board into appointing him with a lot of help from Dewsnip, then proceeded to rip up everything we’d built under Schumacher, alienated most of the squad within days of arriving, tried to force Joe Edwards out of the club, as well as Dan Scarr and Callum Wright. Always spoke as if he thought he was doing us a favour just by being here, when in actual fact he was extremely lucky to get the gig in the first place. Dire football. Dire results. Whilst the players tried to remain professional, you could tell how relieved they were when he got the boot. The most unlikeable manager in my time supporting Argyle, by a country mile.

I place the blame fully on Dewsnip who had this master sorcerer and apprenticeship vision. once Schumacher left he was given far too much of a free reign.

I think Foster felt this was his first step of a glorious career in management!

A coach who was in the youth set up around the time described him as "The biggest C*** I've ever met in football, horrible, ignorant with a massive ego"

I hate to say it but since he left us his careers been on a real downward trajectory and its a slippery slope in football.
  • No time / action at Wrexham
  • Injured for large spells at Huddersfield
  • I *think* similar so far at Bolton
  • Next stop will be someone like St Mirren if he goes back to Scotland or someone like a Barnsley/Burton/Doncaster in league one
Like so many of the 101 champions team, Argyle was as good as it ever got for them. Who went upwards after leaving us?
  • Scarr
  • Cooper
  • Whittaker
  • Azaz (though he wasnt ever our player so doesnt really count)
everyone else slid down the slope

A real case of the team being more than the sum of the individual parts. Very similar to this season's squad I'd say.

There's a parallel universe in which Dewsnip carried the can for Foster's appointment and we're still a Championship club today. Obviously we wouldn't have got Muslic, but we wouldn't have ended up with Rooney either.

Yet again Dewsnip gets the blame 🥱
