So on one hand potty we have me illustrating Johnson's lies, racism, homophobia, and corruption with facts and words he actually said, and then yourself name calling and furious cos you think you're being silenced when in fact it's just other people having a different opinion. What exactly is your "better balanced view" on this matter?

Ha ha.

TBH though I genuinely can’t believe this. I think you know I’m no Johnson fan, but he really is becoming Teflon man. Or is the alternative that unappealing?

Another day more lies , corruption and incompetence uncovered -

Johnson met 3 times last year with Samir Jassal a Tory donor, Tory parliamentary candidate and former adviser and awarded him a £103 million face mask contract without any competitive tendering. The Government are now desperately trying to stop a High Court action with technical arguments but the case goes to court on Wednesday.

The Mail reveals Priti Patel took some time off last year from bullying her staff to break the ministerial code again by lobbying Matt Hancock for a £20 million face mask contract for, wait for it, Samir Jassal! Remember this is our money that we'll be paying back in higher taxes for decades.

The Commissioner for Standards believes Johnson's Mustique holiday was worth twice the £15k declared, we still don't know who paid for it, the man Johnson named has denied it was him. If it was connected to him being PM it should have been declared as a a taxable benefit in kind, it wasn't. That's tax evasion. But hey as Johnson has demonstrated the law is only for the little people who he despises. So who did pay for it and what did they get in return? Johnson refuses to say.

The deadly Indian Covid strain, 50% more transmissible, is now spreading like wildfire and as Johnson said yesterday is endangering the next stage of lockdown release, local lockdowns may now be necessary. Johnson was warned time after time to put India on the red list but thousands came in every day for weeks. He had a planned trade trip to India which he clearly didn't want to cancel although he had to in the end because several of the Indian delegates contracted Covid and couldn't attend.

This is just one day, pretty much like every day. And people get offended when they are told some think they are gullible for supporting these Tories. C'mon

In the interest of balance, the rest of the story...

The paper says the home secretary was approached by Samir Jassal as he attempted to seal a £20m contract for surgical masks last April.

The deal was never agreed after the health secretary said the masks were not suitable for the NHS.

A spokesperson for Ms Patel has insisted she has done nothing wrong and she rightly followed up representations about a vital supply of personal protective equipment at a time of national crisis.

And the rest of the story, Jassal was a personal friend and previous adviser to Patel. Jassal had no experience in providing PPE and the masks he wanted to provide were unusable. Patel wrote to Michael Gove "I would be most grateful if you could review this matter urgently… and work with the company to distribute and supply these masks," It was a favour to a friend who had no experience or expertise in the provision of PPE, an attempt to make her friend a lot of money. It was a clear breach of the ministerial code. Mr Jassal was a Director of 10 separate family companies that were put into compulsory liquidation owing £70,000 to creditors including HMRC.

Meanwhile other experienced and qualified PPE providers tried to contact the government but their requests by phone and email were unanswered. Their evidence is part of the Court action this week.

But finally this story did have a happy ending! When Patel's initial offer from her chum was rejected she was heartbroken and opened up to Matt Hancock “they have committed stock and secured supply, exposing them to considerable financial risk and pressures. The late stage in which the Government has decided not to use themhas caused these problems,”

Their get rich quick scheme to trouser millions of taxpayers money during a global pandemic on untendered contracts was thwarted. But no, a white knight appeared and in July 2020 Jassal managed to flog another untendered contract to his pals in the Government this time worth £103 million for......... facemasks! Trebles all round!

Oh come, come now! You whinging lefties just don't understand and never will !!

Look - we clamp down mighty hard on all those despicable fraudsters who do dodgy cash-in-hand jobs and deprive the treasury of desperately needed funds. Yes, times may be a little tough but we can't accept lame excuses about 'making ends meet' - we all have responsibilities and the law is the law. It would be anarchy not to apply the law without fear or favour! Make an example of them - deterrence is key! We've got hot-lines to catch those scum-bags.

But when thoroughly decent chaps who work darn hard as entrepreneurs ask for a little help for their legitimate businesses ..... well that's different. Surely you can see that! These are talented 'go-getting' types we can personally vouch for and they are just trying to help us all in a time of national crisis. We can't let silly red-tape stop them can we? These people must be encouraged ....and if they do get well compensated for their work well they jolly well deserve it.

That's what you lefties just don't get.... The answer is - "GREED and CAPITALISM" as our own leader so eloquently put it (makes you proud doesn't it?).

They dont need to progress to govern. They're already there.

Incredible

Labour really have no chance of progressing while they have people like Diane Abbott in the party as far as I'm concerned.

No fan of Diane Abbott

Yet the Conservatives are led by a person who's criminally incompetent, incapable of making a decision and isn't improving over time.

Get your popcorn in for tomorrow when Dom goes scorched earth and the truth will out.

About time

True potty I just thought it was interesting that you draw attention to a Labour backbencher (who I can’t abide) saying something typically stupid being a problem for Labours electability when on the same day the actual prime minister is found to be guilty of making racist comments. That apparently is a lesser crime.
