On the online booking page today, the age has been reduced to 64 and over.

I see that Paul. Seems a strange move as they have been doing it in 5 year drops but not on this one.

Perhaps the South West is moving too quickly as Friday and Saturday shifts have been cancelled now.

IJN...Thanks for the link.....I have been waiting for nearly two weeks for my GP surgery to contact me with an appointment for a vaccination....I am in the 65-69 age group with an underlying illness....but I have received no contact whatsoever....so this morning I booked an online appointment ...and lo and behold I have an appointment at HP tomorrow morning at 0945 ....there I go....many thanks....

Well done Alan, glad you listened to me in the end.

I say it to everyone, if you are eligible simply book it on line the day you become so and you'll be in quicker than you know.

I'll miss you tomorrow I'm not in until 1600.

There has been a planned slow down in the supply of vaccine from the companies resulting in a reduction of the number of vaccinations being done for about a fortnight, things should be back to normal next week.

Took my daughter to the Pavillions for hers yesterday afternoon and they'd seen 2100 with another 500 due before closing.

My cousin who lives in the Swindon area had his today and was told his 2nd appointment would be in 12 weeks time, i though the 2nd one was suppose to be done within 3-4 weeks.
My niece over here who works in a retirement home was one of the first in Ottawa to have the shot and had her 2nd 3 weeks after, also my wife's cousin who is 92 had her 2 shots within 3 weeks.

In the UK it was decided to do a 12 week gap as research found one dose gave very good protection so by leaving the 2nd dose for 12 weeks more people more quickly can be given the first dose so increasing the level of community protection.

So looking at the stats it appears that in the UK the main thing is to get everyone the first shot and get the second shot later.

There have been 18,691,835 vaccine first vaccine doses given and 700,718 second doses, according to figures released on Thursday afternoon.
This means that more than 19 million doses have been given - a total of 19,392,553.
