Good luck Coops if it happens. As mentioned by others, when fit, both physically and mentally Chesterfield have got a good player for their level.
Too good for that league.
Just like all the other leagues then! There are a lot of players playing in the conference who are too good for it, for clubs like Stockport, Wrexham, Chesterfield etc. There’s more money now in the conference than in League 2. Stockport for example had a bigger wage bill last season than a number of League 1 clubs (us included). Remember when they beat Bolton in the FA Cup? It was weird seeing that treated as being some fort of fairytale when they pay similar wages to Bolton. The conference is now a nasty league to get out of if you aren’t loaded.
very valid point Cobi, there is now almost a "cabal" of 6 clubs (Wrexham, Chesterfield, Notts County etc) that are almost in the same boat as the premier league. top 5-6 and then some also rans. There are a lot of players playing in the conference who are too good for it, for clubs like Stockport, Wrexham, Chesterfield etc. There’s more money now in the conference than in League 2. Your crystal ball predicted his injury, did it?Never understood why we signed him on a permanent basis. It's turned out to be a very large waste of money. Good luck to the lad at Chesterfield if that is where he ends up.
Indeed. He was brilliant in our final game of that season - scoring twice and assisting the other in the 3-0 win against Macclesfield that got us over the PPG line.More nice quotes by Schuey for a departing player, nice to see. Was struck by how effusive he was about Kieran Agard also.
He's right about Cooper's contribution in the promotion season, was massive in getting us over the post-Covid line.
