He's underwhelmed in F1 really hasn't he, given how promising he was at the start of his career. I wonder what's next for him, and for Alpine. If I were them I'd invite Carlos Sainz to write a number of his choosing on a blanque cheque, but I think he's probably off to Sauber-Audi.

I guess he'd probably think that trailing around at the back in a Williams or a Haas is probably beneath him, and he is a race winner of course, but where else is he likely to go?
I have heard a few people saying that he should take himself to Audi and tell them to stop waiting for Sainz who seems determined to wait for a possible Merc/Red Bull seat and offer to sign a contract there and then to drive for them.

Realistically if you were Audi you'd want Sainz ahead of Ocon, as would every other team, My guess is Haas but apparently they are really keen on a Tsunoda/Bearman line up next year. Williams want either Sainz or Bottas.

Ocon could end up off the grid but would he be missed? Yes he won a race but it was a mad race and was won for him by Alonso defending like a hero to keep Lewis behind him for so long.

New 2 year deal for Perez at Red Bull. On the face of it, awful decision.
I’m not sure it’s such a bad decision. Max is on a huge wage and Perez comes with the backing of Telcel, which covers much of Max’s wage bill.

Yeah I get that but with the pack closing up Red Bull can't afford to be fighting 2 Ferraris and 2 Mclarens with just Max. Perez is too far off Max to help him and it'll start costing Red Bull in the constructors too.

My other thought is that, is this a sign Red Bull are worried that Max might leave? Giving Perez a 2 year deal gives them some consistency.

I am actually looking foward to the race today, first time i have said that in a while. Shame LH didnt switch it on for Qually. But see how race pans out. Hopefully Max will try to barge past on first corner, get a puncture and the rest sail past. 👍
