With our current injuries and extreme lack of squad depth, does anybody think there is a chance that Cleverley will save some of our strongest players for the Stockport game? It could make sense to start the likes of Issaka, Sharpe or Roberts. If we were to get an injury to either Pepple or Curtis we would be in dire straits for the Stockport game. I know if we had drawn anyone else but Exeter, we would definitely be doing this!

It would be sensible to play one up front and alternate Oseni and Pepple, from the p.o.v. that, because we've clearly not succession planned for Tolaj going, we need to manage their work loads and minimise the risk of injury.

His comments to date suggest everything is building for the Exeter game and I think he will want a winning start and get some momentum starting with a rebuilt fortress HP after such a poor start last year- I think he will play his strongest team.

Absolutely not. Our games against them were a stain on last season. They need to be rectified and we are fortunate enough to have another opportunity before hopefully not playing them for a while.

I can’t foresee Tom C risking anything other than a win for a competitive curtain raising local derby. He gets it. You can see it in his eyes.
Looking on the website there’s only about 100 tickets left so it’s going to be some evening.

I have to admit I am pleasantly quite staggered to see this game virtually sold out taking into account it's an evening fixture, live on Sky, many are on holiday and the fact it's only the 1st round of the Carabao cup. Credit to Exeter too for selling their away allocation following relegation.
It seems like there is a real appetite still amongst the fan base, whereas in previous times we would have seen a significant fall off in attendances following a relegation.

I suggest your heart is coming out on top,Stuart. As an Argyle fan, I'm with you, but that is not a good reason at all.

I do think thatwe will play the likely starting XI to give them the playing time together in readiness for the new season - like for the Bristol City game (minus Baidoo).
The solution solves both issues, but to potentially jeopardise the league for this cup game, regardless of who it is against, would just be wrong.

I am also suprised, I dont think the crowd will be quite the usual make up - less season ticket holders, more kids who latch on to the derby games - reckon it will be quite rowdy. Will need heavy policing I think
