I actually think it'll played at a Premier League pace - if we can keep the same intensity that we saw in moments against Mexico and Croatia then we should have enough to beat them.
That pace can be pedestrian at times with ball retention on the half way line looking for right opening, maybe less frenetic compared to last night. Hope we have a good ref, expect it could be a little physical as well.
I’m not yet feeling quite as up for this game. I think the Mexico game was an exciting prospect - home crowd, grand stadium, etc.

Most if not all of our players have recent experience of playing against Haaland. He holds no surprises for them and I’m hopeful that Tuchel comes up with the right tactics to nullify his threat. Norway did well to beat Brazil who are clearly not the Brazil of old though. I’m predicting 2-0 England.
I hope big Dan Burn gets a start. He's got an excellent record against Haaland and never would have allowed the first goal he scored against Brazil on the weekend.

I watched the Spain v Portugal game last night and the atmosphere was absolutely flat, it felt like a friendly and may have contributed to the lethargic nature of the game. FIFA have shot themselves in the foot many times recently and not scheduling any games outside of the USA after the round of 16 is another error.
There's knowing all about Haaland and actually stopping him. He's an absolute beast. Stopping the service to him is key.

Given the fact that Gabriel has played against Haaland enough times I was surprised the Norweigan was successful.
Perhaps it was the relative weakness of his co-defenders around him that stretched Gabriel's game outside his normal comfort zone. I think Pickford would have saved Norway's second goal.
Brazil couldn’t cope with long balls up to him, and it allowed them easily up the pitch as Norways midfield did an excellent job of being first to the knockdowns.
