Dwight Marshall Injury - Chester away

Although I have looked at Pasoti for years, I have only just registered and this is my first post! In 98/99 season me and my mates went in a stag do to Chester so we could take in the Argyle game. Now the groom and best man were the two that invaded the pitch when Marshall scored. The best man injured Marshall and he had to be substituted and my mates got arrested . This footage was on Soccer AM (third eye) and A Question Of Sport (what happened next) but I have only seen it in the flesh. Has anyone got this footage please ? Thanks

Not got the footage I'm afraid but vividly remember the incident.
Tuly hilarious.

Not so funny was crashing my car on the motorway to a mates birthday that evening in Rochdale.

A very memorable day!

It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. The best man waved to the Argyle fans as he was being escorted out of the ground as he thought they were waving to him however the majority were furious and were flickin the Vs to him. The week after it was a Third Eye on Soccer AM, the best man was phoned live by Lovejoy and the Torquay bird .

Running onto the field of play and knocking out your team's best chance of scoring? I guess maybe that's the sort if thing one can only consider 'the funniest thing one's ever seen' 15 years after the event.......

.......then again, maybe not

By that reckoning in the 2028-2029 season retrospection will have caused this seasons smoke grenade throwing and targeted verbal abuse of our own players to become equally as truly hilarious :funny:

.......then again, maybe not

If you were there or have seen it and not found it funny then fair play. If you haven't why waste your time in commenting?
The post is poignant as the groom in question is in St Luke's Hospice losing his battle with cancer at only 42 years of age.
Now try and reply to that you sanctimonious ####

Sorry to hear about your pal Bully.

Have you tried contacting Sky? They may be able to help.

Outdone yourself this time with your sanctimony.

I was there too and it was very funny. The guy in question meant no harm - he ran on to celebrate with the players, slipped on the edge of the turf and slid into the Argyle players accidentally...bringing them all down on top of him in a heap. One of those you-had-to-be-there moments (unless you see the video).

Typically of you though, you just wade in at any opportunity to enjoy the sound of your own voice.

I remember it well and it was hilarious, you left out a bit of detail on the nature of the injury though. I'm pretty sure we had just scored and the guy ran on the pitch to celebrate, slipped on the turf and kneed Dwight in the groin!

Bleddy painful I would have thought and yeas your mate wasn't the most popular person with the Green Army as he was led away but it was very funny.

Hope it all works out for him fella. Try looking up some of the season review tapes or as IJN says give Sky a bell.

i remember speaking to dwight after the game he was in good spirits about it all.
likened us to millwall fans (lol) 1st goal for about 9 games or something like that then when we do score we 'chin' the player that does! we among the words he used.

it was comical how it all happened, was stood at front and when the guy slipped there was only one outcome.

sorry to hear about the lads plight.

Dwight is going to contact Paul Gibbs, as he believes he may be able to help him out with the footage (though it's not a promise).

He also says he'll pass on some memories of the incident when he gets back in touch "asap" with news of the footage.
