Since my last post I could have provided a hundred updates on the Big Lie alone, and its utterly cynical wholesale adoption by the now more or less completely Trumpian GOP; but here's one story that's just come to light courtesy of fakenoozmeeja MSNBC that just about sums up the depths to which the right, and Trump voters, have been prepared to sink.

Fox "News" and the Trumposphere made a big deal of this at the time: a vote had been cast in the name of a man's dead wife, and to the illibs this quickly morphed into one of those irrefutable proofs of massive Democrat fraud. Astonishingly the man, a devout Trump supporter, even appeared on Fox News (see clip) to say how "shocked" and in "disbelief" he was, and how it "lent credence" to all those fraud stories.

Only thing is, it turns out he was the one who cast the vote in his dead wife's name, and he's now been indicted on two felony charges that carry a maximum of eight years in prison. I'm guessing he didn't cast his dead wife's vote for Joe Biden.

Again and again, even in all these laughably amateurish "forensic audits" that have been going on, the vanishingly small numbers of instances of voter fraud have been found to have been perpetrated by Trump supporters - and more than once Biden has been found to have won by a slightly larger margin - and still Trump and his gauleiters around the country call for more.

GOP Election Fraud Hype Collapses As Figurehead Is Charged With Voter Fraud

Note Fox News' evil fascist Tucker Carlson from 2:33 turning on his very bestest pretend concerned, serious, honourable journalist persona. It seems that millions still buy it.

Doesn’t surprise me.
It is endemic closer to home - just look at the vote rigging and voter fraud in Tower Hamlets in Mayoral, council and General elections.
No wonder a presenting of voter ID Bill is going through Parliament.

That bill is a blatent act of voter suppression.

I can't be bothered to look it up right now, but wasn't there something like 5 cases of voter fraud in the last UK election.

But forcing ID will restrict thousands of poorer people who can't afford or maybe have no other reason to have ID.

If they bring it in they MUST provide a free of charge ID system, which they won't do as it's only the poor (traditionally non-Tory) voters who are adversely effected.

They're wasting time on this act, meanwhile ignoring the actual important stuff going on (climate change / racism etc)

Exactly , there has been almost no voting fraud at general elections , this is purely an attempt to disenfranchise people who probably won’t vote tory.

Quite sad really.

The tactics of Borisism seem to be about suppression of any form of democracy.

Cull those unlikely to vote for you with ID cards, suppress the right to protest etc, etc.

From a so called Libiterian we'd laugh if this stuff was going on in China.

Saddest thing is like Trump, Boris is dragging the Conservative Party down to his gutter level 😢

If people are objective they'd admit these are pretty sad times for democracy 😔

The irony with all of this is Boris doesn't need to do any of it.

He's facing an opposition with an identity crisis.

Even without all these additional suppression tactics he'll still win for the next decade while Labour are in disarray.

But back to Trump and the GOP, they've been doing stuff like this for decades, the US is less about the people and more about how much you can get out of the lobbyists

It's not "endemic" in Britain and it's not endemic in America either - that's the whole point! Cases of voter fraud are vanishingly small in both countries, but the right in both countries (especially in the US, thanks initially to Trump's psychologically crippled lifelong inability to admit that he's ever lost anything) would have their populations believe otherwise, for the reasons stated in the last few posts.

The America That Trump Unleashed, Part One Million and One:

The judge in the forthcoming trial of rightwing extremist and white supremacist Kyle Rittenhouse has told prosecutors that they can't refer to his dead and seriously injured victims as victims - because apparently that term would be "loaded" with prejudgment - but the defence will be allowed to refer to them as rioters, looters and arsonists if they can find evidence to that effect. If it existed I think they would already have found it by now, wouldn't they? They've had over a year.

On the other hand there is, shall we say, already quite a lot of video evidence that they were the victims of being shot and killed and seriously injured by a seventeen-year-old illegally carrying an assault rifle.

The judge also said to the defence attorney, "Demonise them [the victims] if you want, if you think it will win points with the jury."

What's the betting that he gets off scot free on a plea of self defence, and then appears on all the usual rightwing news channels and podcasts, lauded as a heroic "patriot"?

Be prepared. They’re just finishing their lentil soup and then you’re in for the back lash.

Well if you think it’s funny that someone has taken a semi automatic weapon to a protest and killed 2 people then that’s the person you are.

For anyone to think that the clearing of the man who caused the tragic death of 2 innocent people is something to celebrate and getting one over the lentil eaters is just plain sick.
