If clubs don't pay their NI and corporate taxes and VAT then they really are being mis-managed and have little excuse when it comes to insolvency. Pay HMG and you'll probably survive, otherwise ...

It'll all come down to whether HMRC will accept a lower payment to save the club.

But the new owner would need to fund that, given the owner will buy nothing but debt and a badge it's not an attractive prospect.

Also add that is HMRC aren't paid in full and other credits get at least 25% that's another 9 point penalty making Derby a L1 team, reduces the value of the badge even more.

Everyone in Derby must be hoping a fan wins the Euro millions.

Can't see them accepting, been after a scalp for a long time. Derby would be a very good warning to the others

Just when you think the club have hit the bottom, rumours circulate that Mike Ashley wants to buy the club 🙈

Would that be a bad thing? Newcastle fans didn't like him because he didn't put his hand in his pocket. He ran Newcastle United to be sustainable on the funds that the football club generated. Isn't that exactly the aims of Simon Hallett here at Home Park? Ashley has sold The Toon with no debts. If he were to achieve that with Derby County it would be a great job on his part seeing where the club are right now.

Derby County have managed to defer a payment of £1.4m they owe Arsenal for the purchase of Krystian Bielik back in 2019. Oh, and they're appealing the points penalty too.

It is the administrators who have lodged the appeal. They must pursue every opportunity to make Derby County more appealing to any prospective buyer. If they can convince the independent panel that the exceptional times that COVID brought to their situation and that it played it’s part, then it is worth a try. There is no additional penalty if they fail so why not? If they don’t ask, they would never get.
