What a great show! .... It feels so fresh, funny, inventive and brilliantly written. The best new thing I've seen for ages. Even the minor characters are great - like Gordon's mad doctor or the appallingly creepy 'boyfriend' of Ash's self-obsessed mother (also hilarious). Then almost hidden amongst the witty dialogue and situations are some quite touching moments and thoughtful lines.

I stumbled across the first series when it was recently repeated and loved it but wondered if they could keep it going for a second. Well having now watched the first two if anything it's even better. If you've missed it and fancy an enjoyable, easily-bingeable watch at the weekend (eight half hour episodes for each series) then highly recommended (on iplayer).

I've heard about the show and seen some positive comments so I gave it a go, I've only done two episodes of season 1 so far and it's very good, I love the style of humour.
The result of the loss of water in the first episode was so funny. :)

I think there are three things that fit into a category of not too funny, just brilliant.

Detectorists.
Ricky Gervais' Afterlife.
This.

First series was very good but second series less so. Second series seems to tail off with story lines becoming more ridiculous with every episode. Think the scriptwriters ran out of ideas. Shame.

Absolutely loved it, and as good as the Detectorists for me.
Yep .... Detectorists must be my all time favourite 'sitcom' if you can give it that now dated classification. Colin has a similar feel to it somehow .... different but similar.

I've now watched 5 of the second series and kind of agree with Pasties that the first 3 were superb but the next two less so and a bit contrived. Having said that even the Detectorists second series dipped somewhat .... but season 3 of Detectorists was just magnificent.

I've watched both series now and it's brilliant, so funny.
The first series was more natural than the second series which had contrived situations but equally as funny, especially the episode which features Gordon's family.

The peripheral characters make the show, especially Lee the creep. 😀
And I discovered the two main characters/actors and writers are married in real life.

Hopefully there's a third series.

Judging by your 'Swiss' avatar I will definitely be checking this out. Cheers. 🙂
