Apologies if this has come up already but is this match in doubt. This is an international weekend and the way I read it currently we are likely to have 3 players called up again.Galloway plays for Zimbabwe (red country)but they are playing in Ghana(amber country no need for 10 days isolation)Jephcott and Camara if selected will come under the new quarintine rules(no need for 10 days isolation anymore from 4th October ).
Going on our stance for the Pompey game you would think we would opt for a postponement.

Zimbabwe also have a return home game against Ghana.
So it depends if Galloway is allowed to play the away game but not the home game although you'd expect Zimbabwe to be training in their home country.

Burton played during the last international break, ironically taking our place as a live Sky game.

You'd think that after missing so much of his career through injury, Galloway would want to concentrate on his club for the time being- he still needs to prove he can make it as a league footballer. Plus his body probably needs more rest and recuperation than most.

Accrington away is also an international weekend. Would be good to get some advanced notice on whether the game is on or off considering the distance to travel.

I’m hoping to do the England v Albania (Friday) and Accy double header 🤷‍♂️

The Zimbabwe FA are saying the UK based players like Galloway could just play the away game in Ghana (which is not on the red list) and not the home game in Zimbabwe which is on red list.
They are arranging for the UK based players to fly direct to Ghana.

Wales under 21 announce their squad today.

No news on Camara being called up by Guinea-Bissau yet.

I would think if he’s a proud countryman it’s a no brainer to play for country over club!

Galloway has been called up by Zimbabwe for the away game against Ghana who are not on the red list.
Negotiations are ongoing regarding UK based players playing in the home game in Zimbabwe, also against Ghana. Zimbabwe is on the red list.

Galloway will miss the Burton game.
If Camara is called up by Guinea-Bissau Argyle have the option to postpone the Burton game.

I’d postpone if we had the choice. Missing Jephcott, Camara and Galloway would severely weaken us.

I'm generally not in favour of games being postponed like this at League 1 level but last night showed just how paper thin our squad is, particularly in defence.

With Bolton out we have 4 defenders for 3 places (5 if including Tomlinson). Ryan Lowe obviously wanted to rest Galloway last night... In the first half, Gillesphey was injured and was pretty much set to be replaced by Galloway (the physio clearly signaled over to the bench from the Lyndhurst side for a substitution to be made). But Gillesphey soldiered. Then Wilson was knocked out and Galloway had to come on at half-time meaning that he got significantly more playing time than Ryan Lowe wanted him to get. Following his earlier injury, in the second half Gillesphey was clearly not moving freely at all. But he soldiered on. the net result of all of this is that we finished the night with, presumably, Scarr unscathed but probably tired from 4 games in 11 days, Galloway in even more need of the rest that he already needed before the game started, Gillesphey carrying an injury of who knows what magnitude and Wilson out of action for a bit with concussion. So, for Saturday we could quite easily be playing Scarr, Galloway in need of rest and Tomlinson, with absolutely zero cover on the bench. We might well also be missing Conor Grant and several other players are starting to look significantly fatigued at times. Such fatigue makes it much more likely that players will pick up muscle injuries.

Obviously I know that postponing the game on 9th October can do nothing to help the side on 2nd October (unless there is anyone around here with a TARDIS ;)) but the above does serve to illustrate just how important it is to have strength in depth in the squad so as to be able to give players a rest during busy periods of fixtures.

If the game is postponed as the EFL like the match played as soon as possible then it would be rearranged for Tuesday 26th October.
That would mean 3 Tuesday night games in a row although one is an EFL Trophy match.

Scotland have announced their squad with 5 strikers named, I wonder if there's any injuries to those 5 this weekend whether Hardie might get a call up?
