Just hope he does not have a mega falling out with the hierarchy during the length of his contract - it could be a very expensive exercise in moving him out of the club - oops i forgot they have so much money they don't know what to do with it

It would be hysterical if they lose to someone like Crawley or Stevenage in the play off final.

Absolute madness. Even if you’ve got money to burn, surely better to improve the squad with ten £1 million players, than gamble on one. If he gets injured they’re going to look right Charlies. Also imo one £10m player amongst a squad of league one standard players can only do so much. He’s a great player who I’d have like a shot, but he’s not superman.

As well as the crazy transfer fee, it wouldn't surprise me if his wages were similarly sky high. Probably part of the reason he's moved to League 1 from the Premier League.

Could rub up some of the Birmingham players the wrong way if he's getting paid significantly more than the rest of them.

I don't think this is like Ipswich at all. Ipswich invested heavily but never anything like such a huge amount on a single player and they only really started to go big on fees when they had already confirmed that they had a manager worth backing and an upward trajectory. Birmingham signing Stansfield for £15m+ is the kind of deal done by a club when it is newly promoted to the Premier League (not newly relegated to League 1!)

The funny thing is that Standsfield's playing record is good, but it's not that good - 9 goals in 36 games in League 1 at Exeter and then 12 goals in 43 games in the Championship a Birmingham. Okay, he is young (21) and so has potential, but that goal-scoring record is pretty much the same as Finn Azaz and not as good as Morgan Whittaker (just to give a couple of familiar examples) who are both only two years older.

The 7 year contract is pretty astonishing.

It will be absolutely hilarious if Birmingham fail to get promoted this season.

15 million rising to 20 with add ons.
Exeter have done well with their 20% sell on giving them 3 million rising to 4.
