But I do find it strange that I have never won even a tenner since.:)

Yep it's a hard thing to complain about, as it just appears to be bad luck and doing it for the wrong reasons. But there's enough of us that have won NOTHING for years and years for it to be a bit strange.

I'm a fairly recent member, and had a £10 win in January. From what others are saying, an early win or two may proceed a drought.

Absolutely terrible if major prizewinners are not paid in full immediately (whether OAP or not) - they have had the money after all. I think the BGL may suffer a bit from those who joined hoping for priority for big game tickets, and then missed out on Chelsea.

I am in it neither for the money, or for priority tickets, but it does sound as though this needs to go in house ASAP.

Excuse my ignorance but is this open to anyone? And if so, how do I join?

£9.75 a month.
I think there's around 850 members now so around £99,000 a year for the Academy minus the prize money each month.

I'm a fairly recent member, and had a £10 win in January. From what others are saying, an early win or two may proceed a drought.

So this is purely anecdotal and based on posts like this, but it does seem to me that many people join and tend to win straight away. Then win nothing again, apparently ever.

There's not so many people - under a thousand? - doing the BGL that there should be so many people (again anecdotal, perhaps me and Postey and others are just really unlucky) never winning anything on a weekly prize over years and years.

Again to emphasise, I don't care about the money but if there's something wrong with that aspect of it then there's probably a wider problem.

Let us know if you win a couple of tenners in the next few weeks 😂

And well done, it is definitely great to support the academy (y)

Like others on here, I was unsure about the fairness of the draw. I have been a membership for a few years and won nothing, and my curiosity was roused when I noted that for a particular draw, the BGL membership numbers were mostly in a cluster.
So I started recording the numbers of the winners. After the fourth week, there was no noticeable pattern.
Then I got a call to say I'd won the rollover. Spooky.

Was gutted yesterday, I was one of the ten finalists but unfortunately was not the big winner. Well done to the chap that won. Us runners up pick up some sort of consolation prize, which is nice. Hopefully a barrel full of beer.:giggle:

I joined it a few months ago and have not won anything (obviously I wouldn't expect to as it's a lottery).

Been a member for about three years and won a tenner a couple months back ... came as a cheque which was a bit of a pain but as others have said, I don't expect to win and after this year, I won't expect any priority seating either...

I rejoined a couple of years ago after a brief break from it, so several years of membership with a small gap and have never won a thing. So I don't think there's any funny games being played with regards to omitting previous winners or anything.

I’m not sure there is anything funny going on with regard to who wins. However, those who do win should receive their winnings without having to hassle them.

Dad got a phone call today informing him that a cheque is now waiting a signature and will be sent out in due course. Hopefully it’ll be for the full amount but it won’t surprise me if it isn’t.

I might also be a cynic, but the phone call he received just happened to be the following day from me spamming Argyle’s Facebook page with complaints.
