I'm not criticising Baz at all because I rate him extremely highly, but it appeared to me last night that he had almost forgotten how to play left back even though its his natural position. I even seem to recall him saying earlier this season in an interview that it was his preferred position over left wing, in which, in my opinion, he is much more effective.
You could see at times that the ball was there to be won and he was physically held back by the thought of his defensive duties. With Scott Griffiths seemingly fit (made the bench) and doing okay (apart from Sunday... but that goes for most of them) why did we sacrifice Baz in a more effective attacking role to plug a left back shaped hole that didn't really need plugging?
