At the risk of sounding overly negative, I think the only reason we managed to keep the ball of the ground was Stockport let us, they knew the game was won so dropped down a gear and allowed us some more time on the ball.

They didn’t stop us playing it on the ground in the first half. Every opportunity we had we hoofed it, starting with Cooper. Cleverley obviously thought the best way to get behind them was with the long ball and a high line, but we rarely picked it up. Our high line only helped them cut us open time and time again on the break.

Our only chance came from Boateng putting his head down on the wing, only for Evans to miss a sitter.

No way of knowing if they backed off when we did bring it down because they were 3-0 up, or if it was genuinely a better tactic… which I prefer to think!

I wouldn't take much notice of the commentator, he was saying how we have 4m in the bank from the Tolaj sale when we all know that money isn't available for transfers, I think he was just filling airtime and blagging it

He came to life for the last 10 minutes but it looked like he was only kept on for the far post knock downs, because apart from that he was well off it and I think culpable for us being overrun in midfield and(although benefit of the doubt because not seen any clear replays) complicit in at least 2 of the goals because he ambled back, or didn't even bother.

Although his signing reflects everything that Cleverley said - he was impressed with him last season , plus the story about multiple offers ties in with what was said by Nigel Clough .

Just completely sold ourselves short with the signings, no pace, no actual full back, no tolaj replacement. The press today was absolutely shocking played through every single time and we were then so high that our paceless players couldn’t get back. Today cleverley got that completely wrong tactically. That was the kind of game where in our position you let them have the ball and say break us down, we’ve got 4 big lads at the back you try and play through it. Not were going to put 4 massive lads across the back and leave them on the halfway line so as you can play in behind them everytime you break down our exceptionally weak press
