I’m sorry but I strongly disagree with your statement. Why should someone get access to something I have paid to subscribe to.
I’m 63 years old and anything that I have wanted I have saved for or could afford to pay for it. It really annoys me that people have this attitude that we should feel sorry for people and give things away.
The subscription for Argyle TV is the equivalent of a mars bar and a packet of crisps a week.
Fairness doesn’t come into it. People have to live within their means
I never bought Mars Bars or chrisps as a kid, It would take my months to earn enough money to ever buy something that I wanted for myself. From 12 to 16 I worked a horrible paper round 6 or 7 days a week. I was lucky enough to have a biscuit or a penguin, and the worst cheap chrisps at home. I was feed and watered and was warm and when I need new trainers I was bought them.

Oh, and this isn't me agreeing you in the slightest.

Grow a heart for crying out loud. Are you that selfish? Live and let live.

We're talking about business here, not sentimental claptrap. £5/6 a month is not expensive, even for someone with a paper round.

Argyle tv costs money and the club will want to get a return for their investment.

They aren't a charity.

When you have knack all, any chance to experience a bit of the Argyle Culture is something I don't begrudge.

These days there are barely any paper rounds available for kids. How else does a 12 year kid earn money these days if they don't get pocket money. What side hustle must they be doing, because I haven't got a clue Jim?

Neither do I, and there will still be free content on the web, as there is now, but general content only, with the best and most entertaining behind the paywall.

Just means Argyle tv need to know which is the most sought after in order to include that as part of the subscription, which is just a nominal monthly fee at the moment.

They cannot afford to price it out of peoples pockets, especially in this day and age of continual rising prices.

Come on. Get real . If these people or children you talk about have “knack all “as you say, how do they afford to have broadband or the internet to watch the content you are talking about

This leads me to project 35... I'm not prepared to be harsh on these matters.

My grandkids get monthly pocket money with extra for car washing, window cleaning, grass cutting etc, etc.

There are ways of enticing youngsters into the world of finance. Pity they don't get lessons at school about these things.

I believe some rich entrepreneurs have started out this way!

What if you live in council flats in dodgy areas? Knock on doors asking to do odd jobs?

Knock on the wrong door and you're having a bad life, Just for a bit of endeavour.

You do have a rosey view of the reality Jim. I hope you're grandchildren appreciate how fortunate they are and with gratitude. Maybe gratitude turns up down the line, lol.

I agree the school system really should prepare all children for the life ahead of them. Some children are blessed with smarts and can navigate this particular learning path and come out of the other side ready to go. Others can fall by the wayside.

It's strange why kids in schools aren't necessarily prepared for the real world that faces them in the near future.

Can a mod change the title of this thread. Off topic kind of throws it in a bin. I find that unpalatable.
